This was fantastic! The graphics and sound were great, it had a good story, and there was varied gameplay. The shmup part by far took me the longest. I was unable to figure out for a while whether I was supposed to kill everything or just survive. I actually figured out the ships' patterns well enough to be able to avoid them (almost) completely, and there was a run where I was doing that fro what must have been several minutes before I finally died. Then I tried shooting them more and I was able to get to the boss super quickly. XD I died over and over and over again, both in this part and the wrecked ship sections, but I continued on becuase this game was so well done I couldn't not finish it.

The wrecked ship sections did have a lot of obstacles everywhere though, and it seemed like the only way to get through was to move fast and let yourself get hit a lot. And if you died while getting hit, the hit sound effect would play over and over again. Like someone else said, I too would die and spawn with debris right next to me. Also I don't know why but the sound of the steam was the most nerve-wracking thing ever.

The only issue I see with this one is some minor spelling and grammar errors (missing words, stuff like that). But this was really polished and well-made! Excellent work!

Very interesting. I enjoyed it for a while but then I got lost. This is a fun entry.

An interesting little game, it reminded me of older games made in Adventure Game Studio, especially the cutscenes. The music was nice, and gave it an oddly upbeat vibe which I think meshed well with the visuals.

I also like how there was a mix of gameplay styles for the different stages. You had the sort of space exploration stage where you try to track down signals while avoiding running out of fuel (or smashing into a star), the admittedly kinda frustrating sections when you were in the ship trying to dodge obstacles, and the space invaders-esque sequence in the portal. The last section I thought I was cheating by moving right up to the boss, thus avoiding the smaller projectiles, but then that final weapon change knocked me on my ass lmao.

Something I did find weird at first with the exploration stage was the randomly blinking stars and blue cylinder looking objects (which I assume are universes being seen from a very far distance?). I assumed those were the distress signal locations at first and I thought I could interact with them. I probably spent a couple minutes trying to press all the buttons to see what would work. I eventually caught on they were just background visuals though, I'm not sure I'd remove them since it does make the space feel less static.

I think the sections where you inside a ship, especially the final one were a bit too difficult. Sometimes I would spawn with a piece of debris either inside or right beside my character, and I got stuck inside the smoke beams a few times which prevented me from moving at all.

Overall though I enjoyed it.
