I know others have mentioned this, but for an English-only jam, it was a little strange that the game didn't default to English. Kudos to you for making something in what is obviously not your native language, though! I can only imagine how much of an extra challenge that adds to already being on a limited time crunch!

I wasn't quite sure what I was meant to be doing right from the start, since you drop us into a large world map with no direction. This can definitely work for a game, but you'll want some sort of guide or goal post so your player isn't wandering aimlessly trying to guess their purpose. If you think about classic NES Zelda games, we get dropped into a huge overworld with no instructions, but the opening cinematic has told us that Ganon took the triforce and we need to take it back to save the princess AND Hyrule. That sort of "instructionless" opening works, because we know the goal.

You've clearly put some decent work into this, but even after finding Abigail, things feel pretty directionless. I hope you'll keep working on this to help guide your player to see all of the work you put into it!

(Also, I love your bee sprites!)

Tried this out very briefly, but it just feels weirdly unfinished. There doesn't seem to be any story or motivation for me to do anything? A cold and mystery open is fine, but you have to do something with it. The environment and ambience don't signal to any mystery, just a run of the mill, poorly mapped generic adventure.

My best guess is that this is an early dev exercise? If so, that's understandable, and not a bad practice round. However, as a player looking to simply enjoy a game, this lacks a lot.

First, I think the game should've kicked off in 'English' (just for this jam, specifically!).

Without any backstory at the beginning, it was hard to find out what our character's motivation was to move around the world map and battle slimes - even just a tiny bit of dialogue like the character saying 'why am i here? where am i?' etc.

The maps are quite large but with minimal detail. If you're not sure how to fill your maps, start small and go from there - it's much easier to fill a small map than it is to try and make large areas interesting.

I like the battles and the health bars for each enemy - that's cool. I would recommend making the battles a bit easier at the beginning since you're only a party member of 1. I didn't struggle, but it just took a while to get through.

It feels a little undercooked overall, but I hope you continue making games and entering jams!!

Thanks for the feedback.

you made the right comments about the game, but the lack of an opening scene is explained by a special plot that will be revealed in subsequent chapters.

And the absence of English by default is a bug. I'm sorry).

At the moment, chapter 2 is being developed where it will be possible to learn more about the characters, their character and

their past.

There are 3 chapters and an epilogue in total.

Would probably be for the best to have the default language as english.
