I liked the game and it even scared me! I feel like it was missing some intro or context.
I’m glad you enjoyed the game and thanks for playing!
Yes, this is an oversight. We have a brief introduction in the game’s description page. It is definitely an area to improve in the future. We appreciate your feedback.
I think that if there was some sort of guidance, or a small intro as to why you were in the forest or why the creature was coming after you would have been nice and would've helped to set the stage a little better. But other than that, I feel this was a really good game. Nailed it on the creepy atmosphere for sure.
I attribute the lack of guidance to my inexperience with story and writing. These are areas where I have less experience, but they are definitely something I want to work on improving in the future. Thank you for playing and for your feedback! We appreciate the compliment.
Nice! Love the use of 3d sound here.
The only criticism I would give, is that there should be an introductory command telling you that you need to do *something* - don't say exactly what to do, just give a vague first goal - when I first played and followed the voice, and got killed at the tree, I actually had the impression this was the whole game! Only the title being so specific hinted that there was more to see - I then looked at the games page and saw there were spoilers instructions, so I launched the game again and looked around more. Just a vague starting text like "Perform The Ritual" or smth would work I think.
Or maybe no text at the start, but a hint like this on the death screen if you are killed without finding any other object of interest, so your first experience is kept the same as now, but it makes sure people know to try again.
Thanks for the compliment! I appreciate the criticism. We had a hard time finding the right way to communicate to the player what to do. It’s one of the things we wish we could have included, unfortunately, due to lack of time, we were not able to do so. That’s why the game’s page contains hints.
We had originally intended to leave notes around the map to tell a story and guide the player, or to have some kind of map so that players could orient themselves easily. I really like your suggestions. Adding a starting text would have been useful and would have avoided having to add hints. I also like the idea of adding a clue when the player dies. These are definitely things we’ll be considering in the future. Thank you!
Thanks for the feedback and for playing!
I enjoyed this one. That sense of tension from the scurrying noise has you constantly looking over your shoulder.
I’m glad you enjoyed it! I felt the same way when I was testing. Thanks for playing and sharing your experience!
I like it. It maybe not that scary but the idea is clear and it's possible to get to the end) Result is achived with minimalistic approach which is also great.
Thanks for playing! I appreciate the feedback and will definitely work on improving that aspect in the future. I’m happy to hear you enjoyed it!
