I love that this is a "well, I guess I've gotta come out of retirement" that really keeps the "I've been long-retired" in mind. The idea of playing as a hero who has become a gardener, researcher, or, best of all, a cheese and wine aficionado, is irresistible. And tbh, those choices about the chess player and the potion brewer are both spectacular.

Heey thanks for the feedback! I'm glad that you like it 🤩 I tried to lean toward the comedic side of things on this one, so I'm glad that it was well recived. I just updated some of the rules with a "pushing yourself" mechanics and a table for grave consequences, if you are intrested.

Thanks again!

Oh cool, those sound like great updates!!!! I love the fun that comes with any kind of push-your-luck thing, especially when the results are so wild lol. Thanks for letting me know, and you're so welcome :D

I admit, I was smiling the entire time I read through this. The changes and additions to the system are relatively small, yet do much to add to the theme of the game. The bit of humor woven throughout is great without getting too biting. And btw, I've known veterans who still get up at the crack of dawn years after retirement, so that addition had me giggling!

This game is a heartwarming and hilarious addition to the jam!

I'm glad you liked it!

I managed to put it together in less than two hours yesterday, so I think it ended up a little too superficial (although with a clear flavoring!). I'll try to add something else before the jam is over! 🙌
