Love the theme in this game! It's a shame you weren't able to integrate a lot of the concepts you thought of into the escape room puzzling side, since I think that could turn into a really interesting challenge. Like pouring water onto the tree and burning it or using an apple to knock one of the ceiling panels out of place. Brought me back a little to the flash game era of escaping from loads of random places lol. Would be really cool to see if you try to flesh it out more :D

Developer

I had recently thought of a use for a falling up apple, but it never occurred to me I could use the burning cup on another item. The only idea I had for it was to put out the fire, but what not sure what that would accomplish. Thank for the idea.

Good concept, yet a bit short-lived ๐Ÿ˜….

GAMEPLAY
The idea of a point & click like adventure is nice. It's understandable that time constraints limited the content creation, yet discovering the Easter eggs(even when I could read them of course๐Ÿ˜„) was a fun twist. Hopefully, in the next jam, there will be more content to delve into.

ART STYLE / VISUALS
The graphics are in pixel art style, which is cohesive and fits the game well. It provides a nice, retro aesthetic that complements the point & click gameplay mechanism. Some more effects etc. would of course have been a bonus.

AUDIO / SOUND DESIGN
The music is enjoyable, although at times it overlaps, creating a bit of an auditory confusion.

THEME
The theme is well articulated through the narrative texts, yet seeing it more in action could have enhanced the gameplay experience, making the broken physics theme more interactive.

This brief adventure leaves room towards a bigger, more fleshed-out game in the future. Keep going ๐Ÿ‘!

Thanks. I unfortunately added music really close to uploading and did not realize it was restarting every time you changed scenes until Valdis let me know. Fortunately, it was a simple fix and it's already working properly. I also figured out how to get inventory items to unselect upon selecting a different item, so I'll be able to upload these small fixes post jam.

In the long run, I do want to add some more items to pick up and work more with what's there. One of my first ideas was having a way to put out the fire in the cup, but eventually I found myself thinking "why?" I think that was my main hurdle in creating puzzles for this game. Every time I thought if a puzzle, I was not sure what to do with it. I think largely because the items to interact with were so bizarre, it was hard to figure out what to do with them. For example, the uncooking microwave had some cool potential, but I could not think of what. Still can't, but hope to in the long run, since I have for some other items...

Funny game! I wish it was longer! I love the pixel art.

Thanks. I would love to give the room a couple more "walls" after the jam.

Nice game! Gave it a rating and left some feedback in the main game's page :D
