Innovative venture into non-Euclidean realms ππ.
GAMEPLAY
Using non-Euclidean mechanics for this jam is a creative choice. The puzzles are thoughtfully designed, though at times it can be disorienting figuring out the next steps despite the door hints. The menu was nicely polished but I did miss an in-game menu to exit or pause. The gameplay intrigues with its off-earthly vibe/ambiance. Controls were good, sometimes a bit laggy maybe.
ART STYLE / VISUALS
The 3D graphics complement the game's surreal, non-Euclidean style, creating an otherworldly atmosphere which is nicely done. I would love to see even more objects or shapes in the game in an update that will add to the ambiance.
AUDIO / SOUND DESIGN
The audio seamlessly blends with the game's ambiance, enhancing the alien-esque, mysterious vibe throughout the gameplay.
THEME
The unique take on the broken physics theme through non-Euclidean mechanics is a good one. Kudos for the theme checkπ.
This is an enjoyable game with a unique thematic approach. Well doneπͺ!
Thank you for taking the time for the detailed review! Really appreciate you putting this on and taking the time to go through everyone's games.
Good game aesthetics, but I encountered a bug where the game broke, and I ended up in a black screen where I couldn't move or rotate. Everything else was great. Congratulations!
Oh no! Do you know where this occurred? I'm not sure if we will go back and update this at all. But it is good to know for the future.
Glad you enjoyed it though!
Well done , i love the game and the menu too its has a good gameplay, and the puzzles are good implemented, very good game i love it, hope you like and rate my game too ;)
Woah that was lagging my computer as hell! I got the first puzzles but at some point, my computer couldn't handle it haha! It's very cool to have some 3D games in this jam, because they take longer to make! Good job! You could try my game if you have time!
Haha yeaaaaa.. we ran out of time to do any optimization. Had major issues with the cameras. But it is something we are now aware of for future projects.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Curious if I ended up beating it the intended way, or if there was a mechanic or something I missed... avoiding spoilers, was pressing e on the roundy thing blocked by the yellowy thing and then backing up until it clipped through then just carrying it to the end the intended solution?
It's really neat, if a bit confusing. You can use the gravity mechanic with left click without picking up the gun, and it seems like you can easily lose the ball floating off into space. Cool jam entry!
Yeaaaaah, we ran out of time to fix those things. The camera occlusion was the time vamp. Getting those pesky things to line up was a royal pain. But thanks! It was a wild one to try and build, my brain still hurts from it haha
I love the concept. I also tried non-euclidian in unreal engine but 4.26. Its a hella pain. I gotta say that this game is impressive. Gj :)
Hey there! Programmer on this game. So unfortunately we had a few render targets mess up towards the end of the jam. But a few tips for the portal system - temporary disable occlusion culling, and also give the player camera a cut the same tick as the teleport. That will make them look as seamless as possible! It was a fun project for sure!
buen juego, me encanta a estetica. :)
