Good use of the prize won last time π! Unfortunately I have not been able to reach the dragon in my play sessions so far... But I did have fun trying.
Gameplay
Really got the old fashioned dungeon crawler feeling. Every time exciting to discover what was in the next room. Hoping for a weak opponent and a lot of loot π. A difficult game though. Often died quickly and when I finally got far I had bad luck with the scores/hits against a strong opponent like the werewolf...
What would have been nice is if you had some kind of indication of how much health the opponent has left. Then you could choose which attack to use based on that. Then a cheap attack can sometimes be better. Got the feeling of trying to get further every time and that's a good thing! A map would have been handy too, but that might have ruined the exploration of the rooms. Updating the stats was cool and so were the choices you have to make in that process.
Maybe a little too much relying on random luck, but that shouldn't spoil the fun and is part of this kind of game as well π.
Graphics
Old school dungeon vibe. The layout and animations also contributed to that. My childhood came back to meπ. Also the attack effects gave it an extra polish.
Audio
The audio soundtrack and effects also contributed to the old school vibe. Fitted nicely into the whole atmosphere.
Theme
Upgrading your character and the choices you have to make in doing so fit well with the theme enhance. You also want to be as strong as possible going into the next room.
Devlog
Your devlog was again very extensive and informative. A nice insight into the process of how the game was created and we can also learn from it. Top!
All in all a very nice addictive game that brought back memories of the past. Well done πͺ!
PS: we need to know that unique route π !
This is the order, but the progress depends of your luck with the objects, the altars and the potions table chance.
If you dont have good stats in the 10 Room wou will be easily killed, this is the weakest werewolf of the dungeon e.e
The sacrifice altar is so usefull but if you have the chance to heal yourself later, the demon altar can give you good stats but will lose some of other one.
If you dont get objects will be hard to stan, the objects is the priority to give you more chances in battle.
This are some tips so you can complete it x3, i dont remember the life of many characters, but remember the life of the dragon, 2500 xp, but if you reach it with good defences you is passable e.e XD
Nice old school graphics , pretty full game too takes a while to get to the end. Overall a good idea , also 5/5 for devlog, very informative. The only thing I got stuck on was that I didn't realise you had to click the doors to move , would be nice to see some AI path finding for the character (think brackeys does a tutorial) or failing that just some UI indicators. Good job!
I think this was really ambitious and I think it's great to see so many stat systems interacting! personally i felt like the difficulty was tuned a little high so I wasn't able to get much done, or didn't really understand it I guess. The overall look is super nostalgic for me and I did really like that :)
