Game Description
The Void is absorbing our entire planet. The only way to save yourself is to take a Rocketship and find another planet to live.

How does your game tie into the theme?
There is a huge void that is (almost) always on-screen that the player must escape.

Unfortunately hard to impossible to control, at least for me (Web, Chrome, no GPU). But I love the story, basically the same that I chose :-)

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Yeah, the controls are a bit rough, but as I played more and more I got used to the gameplay. May I ask you: did you tried playing in other browser?

Submitted(+1)

Ok, I tested again. First of all I was mistaken, it was Firefox, not Chrome. In Firefox, the game starts in a bigger window and then the gameplay is hanging. Same for full screen. In Chrome there is no separate window and no full screen option and the game runs well. Same in Firefox if you reduce the window size.

When the game runs, it is actually a fun rage platformer, well done! :-)

Yo, fun game! I only died once, and I'm surprised it wasn't on the bricks xD
My only nitpick would be that sometimes it's a bit hard to see the platforms considering the distance the camera is from the player and the background colors sometimes blending a bit with the platforms.
Other than that though, nice job!

Thanks for playing!

It really is a bit difficult to see the smaler objects. My initial solution to that was adding the DOF effect in a Physical Camera in my World Environment, but I discovered that the "Compatibility" render did not render this effect, so I (poorly) made a shader to make my own DOF, but as you got higher, the effect goes off, and I couldn't fix that in time.

The final cinder bricks were killing me

Loved the visuals, especially the character animation

Overall the game looks very complete, maybe the only thing missing is the SFX

Great submission, congrats!

Developer

Thanks!

I took it as a challenge to make all the assets myself, so I didn't had the time to make some of the SFX that I planned.

Well.. WHAT ARE THOSES TINY BRICKS  !???

They fcked me up so much time dude ! Moving to a far away one is ok, but moving to a closer one is impossible x))

Also I found an issue where we can't jump to the other brick, when they are far away from each other, and too mush height difference together.

I enjoyed this game and love the camera movement introduction !

Come and get shot by my game too ! x))

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Haha, those are cinder blocks. In my idea, this was a building in construction, and the Void is sucking in all the construction materials, so I modeled some itens that make sense inside this idea, and to make the game harder I made it in "levels", so each level the materials get smaller and it is harder to pass.

And about the issue, you tried holding space while jumping? I never found an impossible jump while testing.

yes I did  ! It may be rare, but the game is super cool !

Omg those cinder blocks!!

Fun game for sure. Love the visuals and that void was scary!

My main suggestion is to improve controls. A bit less sensitivity on that sideways movement. Also I think you can add some lerping to the movement.

Developer

Thanks for playing!

I tried adding lerping to the movement, but the character was very "floaty", and not precise. I know the movement needs polish, but I run out of time for the jam submission :(

43 seconds! The cinderblock section got me the first time. Those jumps are rough. Great game, it was really fun!

Developer

Nice! Now try to beat my time :) haha
