The game was nice visually, but the gameplay was punishing. I had a hard time with the combat. Melee was difficult due to the hitboxes, and the ranged option really was lacking power, I got overwhelmed quickly and didn’t get a chance to get far. I really like the upgrade system requiring a sequence of inputs to succeed! I liked the 2.5 perspective, it looked very nice.
Hey, Thank you for the feedback!
It seems like a lot of people though the combat was hard and unfair. I'm glad you like the upgrade system though!
Thanks for the submission. Very cool to see some 3d games here. I liked the tradeoff of trying to know when to upgrade vs defend yourself. It was a little bit hard for me to navigate the menu system (it was like its own minigame). I think it would be cool to see stronger upgrades or different branches of upgrades so that my hammer can do cool stuff if I upgrade it a bunch.
Hey, thanks for your feedback!
I'm trying to learn more about 3d game dev and though these jams were a great place to put all the knowledge acquired so far into a game. I would of loved to add a branching system as upgrades but i didn't have enough time.
I like the idea of having to find your time and space to upgrade your items, it created stress to complete the minigames in a good, fun way. The combat is maybe a bit too hard, it feels that every time I hit, I am guaranteed to get hit as well. If you can figure out a mechanic, like a dodge or a parry, to fix this, the game would honestly be a lot of fun. Still, an impressive and fun entry nonetheless :D
Hey, Thank you for your feedback!
I think you are right about the dodge/parry mechanic it would of made it even better. I will keep it in mind if i make another game similar to this one.
I found the idea quite fun. The controls are a bit clunky and slightly uncomfortable. I think if instead of J and K, it were the left and right mouse buttons, it could be more intuitive. I missed having a pause menu where I could restart the level. At one point of desperation, I ended up jumping off the main platform and had to reload the page to try again. I loved the upgrade mini-game; it seems like someone has been spending time defending Super Earth in their spare time lol.
Hey, thank you for the feedback!
It probably would of been a nice feature to have remapable controls. Also didn't consider the player jumping out of the platform, lol. I will keep these in mind when participating in other jams.
Oh no! I fell off the ramp into oblivion. Then there were the eternal pink fluffy clouds. They were eternal, because I wasn’t sent back to the battle stage ;-) Is this Valhalla?
The 3D models were very cool, though the animations need some work.
Lol, should of added some out of bounds detection and reset the player.. Didn't even think about that!
Thank you for your feedback and interest in the game.
Cool entry! I love the idea of the endless waves, and the art is really nice! I do think it is perhaps too difficult, maybe making it so that the player can block or even simply that enemies come in distinct waves would be good, as this gives the player time to craft.
Hey, thank you for your feedback and interest in the game!
It is a bit hard, and it was done on purpose since there isn't really much content to explore. Maybe i went over board with the difficulty. Your suggestions definitely would make it more interesting and fun to play and give some breathing room for forging upgrades.
