I absolutely love the isometric look this game has, and do enjoy the platforming I have to do in order to progress. Most of the jumps were corner cut good. The static sound in the background is a bit overbearing over the actual music track you have.

There's just personally one thing which irks me as a on that whole control aspect. The character definitely needs to be dragged along a moving platform. That bit currently breaks the isometric illusion for me (or I'm way too used to it at this point) :'3.

I liked the art style a lot, great job on that! The player having momentum took some getting used to, but I got the hang of it eventually. Couple of notes:

1. You should probably have some UI indication of the number of candles left and the amount of fuel the player has left. I used all my fuel messing around on the first level, not realizing I had a limited amount, and had to replay the level. Similarly on the final level I spent a long time back tracking because I thought I had missed a candle.

2. The constant static in the audio gets pretty grating after a while, and since this game requires a lot of precision from the player they'll probably be stuck hearing it for a while.

Overall though I think you did a great job, can't wait to see what you do in future jams!

Beautiful art style, understated but effective sound design. Controls and movement could definitely use some work as others have stated. Nice job though!

Along with the platforms not moving the player, I think it would have been better if the player's movement didn't have momentum — I found myself having to preemptively move in certain directions and stop to account for the momentum.

I'm also not sure if having a limited amount of fuel is that great, since all you really need to do is spray the candles. I had an issue in level 3 where I'm certain I lit all 3 candles, but the pillar wouldn't allow me to progress to the next level.

I really liked the art style though and some of the animations in place, and it was a fun game idea — I think it could be very fun with adjusted movement and more platforming mechanics. Maybe you could have the fuel interact with the environment in some unique way.

NICE!

Good effort! things to work on.

On audio front not sure If that noise loop was actually good, I personally would prefer to not have it.

Controls need work as mentioned by others. Platfoms should rather move player, at least that was my expectation. Still a lot got done. Keep up the good work!

Game had a small crash on first attempt, but second attempt got through just fine.

This game demands patience and focus due to the moving platforms not acting like vehicles for the player. You must manually move your player to match the movement on a platform.

Strangely enough, the jump shadow didn't seem to strongly indicate whether you would fall or land on the platform. It was just your position in 2D space, and that was it.

After the second level, I had to stop. The game's level of engagement simply does not match what it demands from the player, which started giving me a headache.

Make no mistake, you have some strong elements, such as a cohesive art style, so learn from this and come back in January!

Loved the art style.

Audio for footsteps and flamethrower was good.

Controls for moving felt off. I would have preferred it if it only took one key to move in the game's primary axis instead of two key presses simultaneously.

The jump felt weirdly linear as well. Made it difficult to time.

The character doesn't stick to moving platforms, so you fall off unless you move with them. This also feels odd. Would definitely like it more if the character's velocity was relative to whatever it was standing on.

This game was very challenging for me to play since the controls were really hard to figure out, but I like the concept. It's interesting how you made a 3D platformer in 2D.
