nice game! we made one a bit similar, and we struggle with one thing that i saw you could made, how did you make this total light occluder? in our game, when we light a texture of a wall it cast shadow but the other side of the wall is iluminated too, when should be total dark, any way. Love your game, i liked to see we implemented things in some same ways.
This is an exploration game where you collect the little crystals, bring them to the big crystal, and OH GOD, WHAT ARE THOSE!?
It is a competently made game. I struggled to navigate around the little red ****ers, but that's no excuse.
Well done on your submission, team. This one is a strong contender!
Happy to hear that you had a good time, hopefully the bugs weren't too difficult to avoid.
Thanks for playing!
Good game there! I like the using of the flashlight, we use a similar mechanic in our game.
Good work!
Glad you enjoyed it, I'll have to give yours a go when I can to see the similarities.
Thanks for playing!
Excellent atmosphere and great artistic sense. Congratulations
Cheers for the feedback, glad you enjoyed it.
Thanks for Playing!
Enjoyed the art and lighting effects in this one. Hearing the buzzing of the enemies in the dark added a lot of tension, in a good way. Great work!
Appreciate the feedback, glad you enjoyed it and thanks for playing!
Cool game, the sprites looks great, it feels a bit weird that the enemies damage you even when blinded, the retry button also doesnt work for me(it doesnt really matters because I just went to the menu instead), I noticed some words under the player I gues they are debug or from the spite, nothing important really, the bug and water drops sfx especially are very nice. Good job!
Fair point on the enemies there, the initial idea was that they would run away from the player but in retrospect we should probably disable their collisions in this state, as there are moments that make them run into the player.
Seems to be a layering issue with the retry button for some reason, I don't know how we missed that during testing but we did notice that the button was broken like the day after we released. And yeah we forgot to change the player sprites from the initial placeholder so you can see the names for each frame of animation.
Glad you enjoyed it though, thanks for playing!
Love the art style, the dwindling light, and bugs running away from the light mechanic.
Had some issues recognizing enemy hitting me - maybe adding a pushback or phasing in and out (sort of an invulnerable phase) might help.
Good point, we'll be sure to add be sure to add that in on a future update.
Thanks for Playing!
The look of the game is pretty good. The lighting effects are particularly good. I would like it if there was an arrow to the purple core, so it is easier to find it.
Yeah we realised a little late into development that we would probably need a marker of some sort. Unfortunetly we just didn't have time to implement it. We'll be sure to do so if we choose to continue work on it.
Thanks for playing!
Looks nice. The gameplay could have used something extra to make it more interesting.
We wanted to add more to the gameplay loop, though due to complications we had to scrap a few of the concepts to have a working product by submission.
Thank you for playing!
