Guiding Light - Find your way in the dark
Game Description
You wake up and find yourself inside a dungeon. You must find your way out. Use the light to guide you. Look out for ghosts. Ghosts are only visible when the light is turned off. Each time you are hit by a ghost, you will loose a life. You have three lives.
How does your game tie into the theme?
Escape ties to the theme as the dungeon is filled with ghosts.

It's fun and entertaining, you implemented the light joker very well but you can win the level very easily by making the ghost take you off the map and find the exit but other than that it's very good
Really cool flashlight mechanic! It’s super simple but it creates an enjoyable core mechanic which you can easily iterate with. I also like the visuals, it reminds me a bit of Baba Is You!
I had the same collision problems as the people below so I won’t elaborate on those.
Overall, great submission and great game, congrats! :)
Love the overall gameplay here, really simple maze game.
Although those ghost are big bullies pushing me around hahah, encountered a bug where they pushed me outside the stage but there was a restart button so no biggies.
A little problem with the collision, you have to be accurate when going through those single tiled pathways.
Congratulations on your submission, cheers!!!
Loved the idea! And I liked the music and the sounds too.
One thing that didn't feel right is that some levels start at a narrow area with a ghost close by and towards the exit, for example the second one and the 4th or 5th. There is other level with somewhat narrow horizontal corridors, but that one was better because there is a little more room to move and the ghosts are not that close to the start of the level.
Really liked the idea of toggling the lights on and off to choose seeing the level vs seeing the ghosts. I had some problems getting pushed through the walls by the ghosts, and also had some problems getting through openings that were 1 tile wide.
Congrats on your first GWJ entry.
The ghosts pushed me through walls a few times and made it incompletable (I think?), but other than that, interesting premise and the graphics are workable.
Known issue which I didn't know how to solve. There are two solutions: either restart the level by pressing R or cheat and find the exit of the level while on the outside.
Wow, this game was very original, really. I love how you have approached ghosts + guiding light, amazing.
The levels feel a bit disconnected, sometimes it feels like you've been pushed out of the map and now you are somewhere else but I think you were teleported to the new level? Not sure about that, that was a bit confusing.
Perhaps a larger map with savepoints would have felt better? Maybe that's what there were?
Apart from that, the game is very nice, love the approach!
