Interesting game, but the player movement was very off, you slide on the platforms like walking on ice. The enemy shots would often pass through walls, and damage me, and the level design was pretty confusing, there were a stage where I had to look everywhere to find the exit. Excluding those issues, the game was very easy, and the bullets bouncing off walls helped a lot, if this wasn't intended, it would be a nice addition to the game, along with more levels, enemies and upgrades.

Developer

Thanks for pointing out issues with the game, after the jam is over i plan to update the game to fix some of those.

Damn I'm a 1 hit wonder, is the hp not implemented completely? It goes down by 1 if hit but I'm dead either way :D

Difficult, but fun and fast enough to keep trying, nice submission!

Glad you enjoyed! the HP thing might be cause things like enemy bullets only deal 1HP while spikes and lava instakill you, i should have explained that somewhere in the game but i guess i forgot.

I liked the game, difficult thought xD !

Developer

Thanks! the game was gonna be a rage game at first but i decided to tone it down, some of the difficulty remained it seems

I like the turbo mode!

Developer

I debated keeping it or not due to it being so powerful, but it was just too fun to remove and im glad to have kept it in

Got to the end! The game reminded me of the flash era of games I grew up playing. The deaths were surprisingly visceral. Nice job and congrats on your first GWJ entry. :)

Developer

Thanks! The game does feel like a flash game to me too since i used to play them almost daily back when they were still around. The deaths were just meant to be a test at first since i was figuring out how to use CPUParticles but they fit in pretty nicely so i kept them in

Fun game! Very original, and I liked the way it played. My main complaints are that the enemies seemed to keep shooting after they died, and that the movement upgrades felt more like a downgrade, as they were too hard to control. Nice job!

Developer

Thanks for playing! As for the enemies shooting after dying thing, it is most likely something with the primitve shooting system (everything has a timer that determines the time between shots) but incase i update the game after the jam ill try to fix that, so thanks for bringing it up aswell. The movement upgrades probably could have been toned down a bit looking back so that might be done in a possible update aswell.
