Last-minute question about code reuse?

Hello Godot friends,

Sorry for the late question. My game is a 3D platformer that I made during the jam. However, I made it based on code and a scene from an unreleased platformer that I started working on before the jam. Specifically, I had already started working on a 3D platformer prior to the jam, and then I took part of it and changed it to fit the game theme. The end result looks very different because of the game theme, but you would be able to tell they are based on the same gameplay / level design. Is that allowed?

This is my first game jam so I wanted to double-check. I have not submitted yet.

Thank you!

The rules say that the reuse of code and previously made assets are ok. https://itch.io/jam/go-godot-jam-2

It sounds like from what you are describing that would not be outside the rules. Though i guess there might be some wiggle room depending on how much of the game was complete. I imagine a simple palette swap might not be acceptable.

That said grain of salt with everything I'm saying since I'm just a participant.

I think it should be ok
