How does your submission match the theme?
The core mechanic of the game, the grapple beam, fulfills multiple purposes. It is both the only way of moving you, the player, and also the only way of getting the ball to its intended target.

You can use it in many ways - drag the ball towards you, drag yourself towards the ball, "fling" the ball through you (essentially swapping places and velocity), stopping the ball's movement, et cetera.

Third-party resources
The only part of the game I didn't create myself was the audio. I sourced that from Freesound, and processed in Audacity. As for the engine, I used libgdx, a lightweight Java game framework. I used Tiled for editing the levels. The font used is "Exo 2", and is available for free on Google Fonts.

All open source! :D

All the gameplay and graphics was developed by myself.

Really simple yet fun game! I included it in my Game Maker Toolkit’s Game Jam compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)

This is simple but so great! The mechanic really fits the theme and is so interesting! You did a lot with it. The game feels really polished too and has a great aesthetic. I stopped and had to take a break at that all red walled room though. XD

Interesting gameplay mechanics pared up with some rather pleasant minimalist graphics. The level design was overall quite good and often proved to be a genuine challenge. However one issue I had with the game was that sometimes the beam just seemed to look onto the ball, despite me aiming a fair bit away from the ball. I don't know if it was done intentionally to increase the challenge of getting through certain gaps but it could prove to be annoying when you were aiming at the wall next to the ball, and your grapple beam would still go right of your mouse to lock onto the ball instead.

Overall it did fit the theme of the gamejam very well and I found it to be a very competent, interesting and most of all, fun entry into this years game jam. Well done!

Wow this is a tight mechanic. Sometimes hard to tell when your aim will intersect the ball's sphere, but maybe I'm just not good at it. :p Super fun!
