Nice work finishing and submitting your game! Development and coding in general can be really tough. I hope you do more in the future!

Most of the comments I would add about the game are already covered by your to-do list. One thing I'll add is that I think the dice should charge faster. I felt like I spent a lot of time waiting to charge enough so it would shoot out like I wanted.

Really awesome to see that your family joined you in the jam - I've done almost every GMTK game jam with my family as well! Lots of great memories to be made, and at the end of the day, completing a project together is so much more important than trying to win. ❤

I can see from your list of TODOs there is lots more you wanted to add. Congrats on completing the jam and releasing a game! No matter how the game looks it is always an achievement to be proud of. 22k people enter the jam but only 6k released a game so you are already in the top 30% :) I hope you keep working on this and to see your submissions in the future.

Thought the dice were going to have something to do with casting spells, but they're just dice-shaped bullets? I don't see that as a great fit for the theme, but congrats on putting your project out there - cool to see a family team make something together!

We wanted to have some effects depending on the numbers that would land, those effect exist on paper only haha. So you are right, they currently are dice-shaped bullet.

Next jam, the kids will have a bit more experience, and we might be able to have a better result at the end of the jam!

That's cool - I'd love to see the game after that idea gets into play. Glad you all had a fun time on the project!

Cute little 3D game with 3 levels and an epic music.
Made by a family of game devs?
Congrats on finishing the jam !

Thank you for your comment :)

Family game indeed! It's the first time for my 2 kids doing a jam. So my goal was accomplish: a lot of  fun, and a ton of learning! They were both very proud to see our submission and have completed it!

The throwing dice mechanic was a bit confusing, but the idea looks very promising. Good job!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!

We noticed that it was indeed confusing. We thought about adding a piece of UI (meter) to show the throwing force at which the dice would charge, and we still had to tweak that. Most people we shared it with didn't even notice the force increase with time.
