Great aesthetics and music! I like that you show the first trajectory of the projectile, I know showing bounces is hard but it would be great addition. I had trouble clearing levels but besides that it's a really solid idea.
Really nice concept and great polish! It would be cool to see trajectory of the projectile and with some bounces(now it shows only where the projectile will hit) because game is kinda hard and most of the time I was able to progress only because of luck)
Yeah I wanted a trajectory mechanic too - didnt quite have time. It's a sensible suggestion, though!
Very good-looking game with great bgm and sfx. Unfortunately, I could not pass any level but I enjoyed how the ball bounced from one platform to another. Perhaps you can tweak the levels a bit? Well done!
Cool game, with a nice puzzlish type of game, having the text on each level telling you new mechancis is cool but i didn't really understand how to beat some levels. Cool game tho !
Gorgeous-looking game, I love the style. The mechanics are solid. Though, as someone else mentioned, I did not clear any levels by my own skill—more like pure luck. :)
It's a polished game with solid gameplay, good sound design, and music, and it fits the theme. Well done!
Really impressive game, especially for 48 hours of dev time. I had quite a lot of trouble with predicting what would happen, and especially when the spinning things came into play, I basically solved levels via random chance.
I did like the different parts that interacted with the size of the particle, and controls and animations were great.
Also, it felt like sometimes the particle bounced just off angle where it should have; i.e. as if the calculations were a bit off?
Thank you - Yep, that'll be Unity's physics engine. Never used it like this before, so It's misbehaving.. thank you for playing!
Wow , How Smarty you used the Theme and created a unique game experience,
I enjoyed playing , Sound used keep me involved, Level selection menu is masterclass,
I explored each level because of skip level functionality , that's amazing,
The art is fantastic! And I like the concept, I think it's very satisfying to try to predict how the projectile will bounce around. Like pool!
I think that the levels got complicated very quickly (at least for me haha) and maybe a more slow introduction to the new mechanics could have eased me into the more complex possibilities.
Overall, I think this is a satisfying and challenging game! Good job!
Polished, but the game's sufficiently chaotic that passing a elvel or not is down to luck rather than judgement.
Also: the coefficient of restitution looks over-tuned: often a widget would end up bouncing at close to 90 degrees between two parallel walls.
The game is really fun but I had a lot of trouble passing levels (I had to skip the majority of them after 30+ try) :/ I would love to play an easier version of it!
the difficulty problem has been pointed out - I agree with you :) thanks for playing!
The game is well polished. But I felt that passing the level was mostly luck and not due to calculation.
I completed 5 rounds of the game! And I feel pretty proud. It's pretty tough!
I feel like in an ideal world the difficulty would ramp up a bit slower. There were many clever mechanics in the game which could've been learned slower and with more control and easier levels. At times I found myself randomly retrying shots to just see if I can make the level somehow randomly.
That being said there are a lot of great things going on for the game.
The shooting mechanic and control is really well made. It felt good and the shot did what I intended it to do.
The platform and teleporter mechanics are clever and only really let down by the level design clarity itself.
The music is a banger and sound effects in general fit very well. Feels like a whimsical world.
The fact that you save my progress (yes, I restarted the game) is a really good touch.
The fact that the level selector is also a tutorial is such a good move!
So overall, I feel like this is a basis for a game people would truly play (even after the jam) if you figure out the progression and level design!
Well done & keep at it!
Wow that's some really great feedback thank you. I designed the levels and they weren't tested by someone who hadn't spent some time with the game beforehand. So you're probably completely right, the difficulty may be a bit much. If I had more time (This was only developed over 48h rather than the full four days) then I'm sure I could've added many more levels, diluting the difficulty between them. It's not hard to fix after the jam though!
For a 48 hour game this is a hidden gem, don't worry about it. I am mostly trying to give valid criticism and actual feedback rather than spam ratings so hoping you take the positive much more weighted than any negative feedback. Game jam games are prototypes at heart so I would say that yours is a validated prototype for a truly playable game!
that's awesome, we appreciate that. And of course, will be sure to review yours too later today.
