That might be it. Not going to lie, I almost passed on your game because of the installer. But it looked so interesting that I gave it a chance, and it turned out to be my favorite game of the entire jam.
There's a lot of randomness, too. People can vote you 1-star for petty reasons, or no reason at all.
Awesome game, love the style, really fun gameplay off the back. The big thing for me is I'd like to see more varied enemy types fairly early on in the game. With a lot of different enemies/hazards I would play the hec out of this game. Only thing stopping me from doing that as is is that it felt a little repetetive after a while.
Very cute game, super funny and addictive sound effects! A few ideas I had if you'd like to take the game further (which you should):
- It would be cool to see some powerups, maybe longer run speed, faster walk speed, etc...
- One of the things I found pretty annoying was the zombies going wherever they pleased, but it does make for a fun game of like "oh, I SHOULD be going down here but I think I have to follow my horde and hide behind them" and so on, so maybe you could add different human types that when captured turn into follower zombies or something, zombies who follow the player!
Amazing submission, with a few more mechanics and some more levels I could totally see this become a fun Steam time-waster!
I'd play 100 more levels of this game. Everything about it was fun and satisfying to play.
Next time, please don't use an installer for a jam game.
Seeing the army of zombies grow is super satisfying and a great use of the theme, good job!
the art and music/sfx are all amaizng, and the game is such an interesting take on the theme. Consider me a fan!
woah its so fun! the animations are great, really didnt think the game was gonna be this interesting! right when i thought "its too easy tho" the cops started showing up and difficulty increased rapidly! excellent game!
Soo fun! I had blast in the later levels and the overall presentation was adorable. I do wish the player zombie was different looking even just a tint of red would help distinguish myself in the crowed of zombies. overall had a great time tho :D
Very cute art, love the little policeman. Its impressive you did all the assets! Does that include music and sfx as well?
Its satisfying when a group of zombies starts colliding with a group of humans, watching a cascading of transformations. I wish I could change which zombie I am controlling, sometimes end up just chasing one last human who is far but other zombies are close.
Good job!
Yes I did the SFX and Music myself! (I try to learn how to compose and messed around in BeepBox 5h before submitting my game haha).
I thought about changing zombies but I didn't know how to make this feature work and not be annoying when you have to navigate between +40 zombies before getting the right one ^^" also I didn't have much time but after the jam I may revisit this game and implement new mechanics and stages so I'm probably gonna try to implement this idea!
A little nice crowd game right here, it should have a lot of ratings by now.
Good game.
I liked everything about this game! I think adding a score system and more mechanics would be make it perfect. Our take on the theme is almost the same hahah
