Pretty nice game, really frustrating that dragging the cards doesn't work properly if you drag fast enough (This could probably have been remedied by having a check for if the card was held last frame, and if so, sticking it to the mouse if LMB is held regardless of the mouse pos delta). I had fun, but I think this game is a bit lacking in strategy, it's mostly just using the cards that you get dealt. Still, I had fun with this one, and nice job!
yes, i felt the same. it was just using any card that appeared in the screen and it felt kinda bad. and also, the mouse dragging has so many bugs as well. thanks for the criticism its actually really nice to hear it, especially when coupled wiht a "nice job". thanks tuatarian.
For the record and in case it wasn't clear I actually do really like the game, you've done a fantastic job, but I try to say everything I have to say in these comments in the hope that at least some of it might be helpful for next time. Please don't take anything personally: this is a really solid entry!
oh no i didnt take it personally, mate. it was actually really nice to hear it. love the criticism. cheers.
Very interesting idea, its a bit hard to move the cards sometimes tho. overall good game
just played your game and it was a lot of fun. there was a moment where you have to jump in three of those blue circles, but i ended up bouncing back from a wall and was thrown all the way back from where i started. and let me tell you something. it was hilarious. nice job.
Figuring out how to play took me a short time, but after that it was surprisingly fun to play, I really enjoyed it. The sound effects paired with the particles provided a nice sense of reward, and kept the gameplay loop more engaging. Overall looks very promissing and I hope to see your improvements in the jam next year.
thanks, i am happy that the effects achieved something. i was afraid they would be a bit off. and hey i played your game and let me tell you something. you did a fantastic job. the idea was pretty great and it could easily turn into an awesome game.
It's a good idea. Once I figured out how to play, it was pretty fun. There is a nice set of effects on the different cards.
I also lost a few times without knowing why.
Interesting idea! I just really wished the UI better showed the stats of the houses (and makes sure the houses don't look like just part of the backdrop), or what the purpose of the detectives are. Plus sometimes the card will stop dragging randomly which can be a bit frustrating.
However it does seem like an interesting idea to be balancing damage and suspicion and it becomes like a resource management game!
Good effort!
oh man dont even get me started in those detectives. the idea is for the increase of detectives to be gradual, because when you hover them it increases the suspiscion, but i forgot to fix that. and i really loved the idea of your game. it was a bit hard to play in the beggining but the concept is pretty cool.
Fun idea! I was a little confused sometimes about how I lost, but I won in the end!
Reaaaally fun once you get the hang of it! and the idea has lots of potential if you ever decide to expand on it
It would be nice if the game told you what you can interact with and what is your goal and some other basic tutorial stuff. But it's not too hard to figure out on your own
