Finally got to check this out. I had some fun experimenting with the shooting and swapping mechanics - until I found out I could swap with the guards. These green blobs have an insane high caliber blicky and you will no longer need to swap as you blow your enemies to pieces.

It would've been cool to add an ammo mechanic so that swapping could still be relevant. Nice game!

Great idea. Execution all but kills it though. It's good that you acknowledged the collision issue. An easy fix would be to stop the enemies from spawning in groups, because it completely kills the shift ability as far as I am concerned, turning the game into a simple top down shooter.

Very small changes can turn this into an excellent portfolio piece. Serious credit to you AzureOtter. It's hard to make a game on your own, and think you can do very well in the future.

Thank you so much! Yeah, I went through the project again a little while ago and found the issue. I'll update as soon as the voting ends! Thank you so much for the kind words :]

Nice idea! It would be nice if the START and END text don't get in the way of the actual gameplay

Real shame about the collisions being messed up! This seems like a neat take on the body switching theme I've seen around the jam.

I don't know how to play too. From the start, the letter is too big and stays too long so it's hard to see.

I think your idea maybe cool.

I'll be honest, because it didn't say anything on the game's page, I had no idea you could move around with the arrow keys xD

Once I figured that out though, I really started to like the flow of the game! The idea of possessing different enemies to get out of crowded spaces in a pinch is a really solid idea that I could totally see expanded out into its own unique game. The collision with enemies is pretty janky, but knowing how your development cycle was kinda rough, I can excuse that. Maybe some kind of invincibility/grace period before the enemies start retargeting you could be neat though, if you decide to expand on this.

All in all, the art was super cute, the gameplay was simple in a good way, and I had a great time once I figured out how to move!

I left clicked and I saw everyone stay.
After that I did not know what else to do.

I don't know how to play this game. Any monster I press is resulted in the end.

I love the concept! It's well-presented and fun. I think you should add a small invisibility timer when you swap though just so you can understand what is happening. Other than that really cool game!

it's an interesting mechanic and has good potential, unfortunately bit hard to collider issues. a suggestions could be you make the character your switching into unable to take damage for a few seconds to avoid the insta-kill from enemies nearby.

Thanks, will do!

I don't get it. Whenever I click (left button) I die instantly,

Yeah, it was a bit of an oversight on my part. I should have added some more leniency to the collisions. The thing is, if you shift into an enemy that is touching another, you die instantly. To be able to shift around effectively you need to shift into enemies that are alone, or separated from the bunch. I'll probably add a couple invincibility frames after you shift on the next update.
