How does your game fit the theme?
You are an eldritch being with a very powerful eye. Though you are helpless on your own, when you gaze upon the very essence of something, it is a different story. Lock your gaze into an enemy to make a soul connection. This will join your health, and attack pattern. There is a catch, but I'll let you find it out by yourself. If you are having trouble figuring out how to destroy enemies, try looking in a different direction once you gazed upon an enemy.

Really cool concept and visuals, but I just could not move, wasd did not do anything.

Really interesting idea, though requires some time to get used to :) Also would really blossom with more time to balance, but I understand this is mostly the matter of limited time for all of us :) Anyway, very nice game! Congratulations on this one!

Thanks a lot!

It took me a while to understand what's going on (including the health link - finally I understood what was killing me - it was me!), and even longer to somewhat master this game play (which is a good thing actually). So maybe the onboarding and user feedback (what's killing me?) can be improved, but I think it's very original, and there's a lot of game play depth and potential here, especially in Stage 4 where you can choose who to link with!

(By the way, if you want your screen shots to show up on your game page, click 'edit theme' while viewing the game page, and then choose 'two column format'.)

Thanks a lot mate :D

Very cool concept and a really solid execution on this one! There's some roughness around the edges, but I happily excused that once I figured out what exactly was going on.

My main gripe is that for how easy it was to die I would have really liked a one-key restart instead of having to return to the menu and back.

This concept would be really cool to expand post-jam, perhaps in a more linear puzzler-esque format?

Awesome job though! I really liked this one :)

Thanks for the suggestions, glad you liked it! I'm definitely thinking of expanding on it :D

Feels well polished, satisfying to play, looks absolutely stunning, I love the pixel art. Good game :)

I like it very much, solid game. By the way we have very similar mechanics :D

Developer

That's so cool :D first time encountering a game with the same idea

Feeling the same :D

Hi CyberPRDX!

What an interesting mechanic! Once I realized that "syncing health" means that lighting up the dude my gaze is on is a bad idea, I had a lot of fun with the mechanic. It's also super cool that the gaze breaks when obstacles are involved. A really unique and intuitive idea!

I think one way to improve would be to have some sort of indicator that you are hurting yourself. Maybe like a pulsing particle effect that travels from your in-gaze enemy to you, before you take the damage. That way its 100% obvious its a bad idea, even without reading your description!

Overall great start to a very novel concept! Good luck in the jam!

This is a great game, i love my self top down shoot em ups, and the art style reminds me of scourge bringer, well done!

Once I got the hang of things, it's pretty fun! It can be a bit unforgiving at times though since you have to keep linked enemies alive while also being shot at by several others. Overall, nice work!

A bit confused at start but then it is really nice idea and gameplay, also nice presentation both graphics and sound effects

Crunchy audio and visual feedback. Cool mechanic. Could have been cool if the enemies showed that they where getting ready to shoot. Nice job!

This is great, once I had figured out the mechanic I couldn't stop playing. Would have loved to see more enemy types and level.

Fantastic polish, from sound effects to aesthetic to consistency! The core game idea is also fantastic, utilizing your enemy's attacks against them; especially the last level where all the enemy types come together, giving you choice on what kind of enemy you want to soullink with. Love the line of sight idea too!

My feedback is managing my partner's health as well as mine was somehow overwhelming to me, and I often died without really knowing why. That's probably me just being bad at the game, but I think something about the design could be tweaked to make that better for players.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I will definitely look into making it a bit more intuitive.

I really like the concept and the art style of the game. I would prefer if the enemies had an animation that signals an incoming attack. Apart from that, this is a nice little project.

had some control issiues software side but that could just be me

Put in the steam, no one would know it was done in 2 days. Really really, interesting mechanics where you have to constantly think in a chaotic environment that boosts your adrenaline up. You'll have a lot of fun trying out this!
