How does your game fit the theme?
Your moves are directly the sames as your clone, so you are always together everywhere you go, and you can use that in your advantage to push buttons, but it can also hurt you

Very cool!

Gosh I suck at this game. I'm not that into hardcore platformers but I enjoyed the game quite a bit anyways.
Having my clone damage the character definitely kept me on my toes the entire time (sometimes a bit too much honestly). Not sure about puzzles though - I skipped quite a few of them but if these were mandatory I don't think clone damage would give me time to think about the solution.
The graphics and music/sounds are awesome though, I loved it.
Overall, amazing job!
Very well polished for a game made in such a short time period! I love details like the audio design, camera shake, art style, etc. Several other people already mentioned cheesing the health system. Also, falling into spikes made it difficult to jump, which was a bit frustrating. But overall I liked this game a lot!
You have such a nice style to your game! I love the fast movement. I usually don't like it when puzzle games have slow movement, so this felt nice. I also loved the (shoot down = double jump) kind of mechanic.
Though..
This is such a nice game! I really enjoyed playing through this.
(BTW, if it's made with GMS, why not allow resizing? It took me a while to figure out Alt+Enter makes the game fullscreen, along with other controls.)
thanks! I was going to add a more fluid jump and more screen sizes, but it was close to the end and I uploaded the game right before itch started crashing, so I tried to upload updates as soon as I made them but a lot of minor details couldn't be done :(
thanks for trying it out though!
Very nice and polished platformer! I enjoyed the gameplay, the presentation, the amount of content and everything around. However, I think that if you removed the clone following your footsteps, the game would still play mostly the same. I mean, you usually don't need to press the switches (as you can essentially fly with the gun), and there are other mechanics to keep you moving (some enemies, trying to speedrun, etc.).
I think it is just one tiny step from being truly awesome. It definitely has a potential of becoming a fully fletched game capable of being sold on Steam or something - with more invested time to polish it.
hi! I have planned after the review time to add a menu so you can set how far away is the clone going to be, including no clone at all
some puzzles were designed with it in mind, so it might not be as easy as it sounds.
but thanks :D
I plan on making the game waaaaaaaaaaay bigger and bundle it with another game I made in a previous game jam similar to this one (you can try that one too if you want more stuff to play) and sell it on steam
Love how polished the game is and art style! I think the game is a little too fast for me and the health system makes the puzzle skippable
alright! next build I'll make it less forgiving with, 3 hp?
game is really good, very hard as nails but i felt like I couldn’t quit, hope this makes the 10 ten ;)
This game is really polished!! I like the color palette, transition and mechanics. Great job for the game jam! The pixelart is well-crafted, the music is well fitting for the fast-paced movement... 5/5
Thanks! The theme itself is very dark from a specific perspective, but the player wants to have fun, so I kinda mixed both together and it gives a very weird feeling. Or at least coming from me.
I also made the palette directly lifting the colors from the game jam logo, here's an image of it
Enjoy!
I found that the character movement was maybe a bit too fast, making it hard to plan a solution to the puzzles and allowing me to simply damage boost over a few. But overall amazingly well done art and sound design here, and quite fun to play!
Hey! Thanks for playing! I'll try to slow down the speed. You can stay in place and do nothing before you start the level btw, hope it helps!
Even though I can see the files for the web version, I can't seem to just play in the browser - right now I'm filtering by "play in browser". If I get a chance I'll come back and play the download version. Sorry!
Oh yeah sorry about that! I found some graphic bugs when exporting to the web version and I fixed them, although I don't want to upload it yet until the review time ends.
No worries. I did play the download version, but I'm bad at platformers, so I ended up with some chaos XD I'm not even sure I could tell what was going on or what I was doing. (I'm the sort of person who loses their super smash bros. character on the screen and almost/jumps off the edge accidentally. 3 or more times. At least in multiplayer.)
Since I think this was targeted at people who ARE better at platformers, I'm not sure my input has much value to add; I just don't think it is very accessible for folks who can't take the super-fast processing. Even if I had enough time to figure out where I wanted to jump to, I don't think I could have done so accurately enough :D
But anyway definitely nice aesthetic, fun humor and music. Cheers! ^_^
