Good way to trigger your existential crisis XD

Got me feeling very existential. I liked it a lot and it fits the theme well even if it's less of a game and more of a thought experiment. Well done!

Thanks for the feedback! We're aware that our game is more on the interactive fiction side of things, but this suited the skills and specialisms of our team this time round. Glad you liked it! :)

Nice work, deep philosophical thoughts, I like it.  The music is perfect for this type of game too and the game fits the theme well.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback and kind words.

This is a really interesting take on the theme. It's great to see a more atmospheric title in the submissions. Overall, it wasn't what I expected going into it, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Developer

Happy to defy expectations! And glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for the feedback.

The question and answers are pretty spot on and well written I have to say. It surprised me.

The music and general atmosphere is really nice too.

I would have wished that my choices would have some consequences however. And beside the last questions I am not quite sure I understand how it fits the theme. The last questions come quite abruptly I feel.

But a really nice game overall.

Hi Nic.

Thanks for the feedback. The responses do affect the music, which adapts to the emotional tone of your answers. The narrative, however, does not branch, so I see what you mean.

Our thinking in terms of the theme is that the procedure is one that takes control away from the protagonist, as hinted towards in the dialogue. Also, since the narrative all occurs mid-procedure, it is too late to take it back, so that lack of influence over the narrative and the protagonist's fate was our approach to the theme.

Thanks for taking the time to play and comment!

Aaah Interesting that it affects the music. I didn't thought about it because the music flows really well.

I want to be nice, but this felt a bit edgy - stumbling onto this I have no reason to pretend like i'm in whatever world this is supposed to be

Developer

Our game probably isn't suited to everyone's tastes, and to me, 'edgy' might be considered a positive adjective, rather than being negative as you seem to imply. I understand that it is easier to suspend disbelief when playing a game that suits your own tastes: I'll invest in all sorts of bizarre worlds and accept all sorts of bizarre circumstances within a game context if it draws me in. It is a pity that we didn't draw you in, but hopefully you enjoyed plenty of the other jam games. Thanks for taking the time to play and provide feedback!
