I've never played any old ASCII games before, but this one really makes me want to try them out! Cool idea!

I've have a soft spot for complex, user-unfriendly ASCII games ever since Dwarf Fortress and you know what? You tickled that soft spot just a little bit.

There isn't much to this, content-wise, and what is here is complicated, opaque, and I had to rate it low based on the criteria of the Jam, but you know what? I still enjoyed it.

Extremely confusing even after reading through all of the documents. It is not clear what anything is other than the player background and solid objects. It's neat that it's generated differently each time, however this almost serves to make it more complicated and less user friendly. The controls are very wonky and close to nothing makes sense. The game needs some sort of tutorial or something to make it so the player isn't forced to read a short essay to figure out the game.

Welcome to roguelikes :D

This reminds me of the times I was first learning to play NetHack - everything displayed in Matrix-like letters, the whole keyboard is the controls, to know what does what I had to either read a separate book or use the help command which was always ready to overwhelm you with information. It felt like deciphering ancient technology, and I had a blast.
If you have any prior experience with berlinian roguelikes, this game is very obvious, but I can see where does your confusion come from :D
