Hi thanks for nice words about the game.
Withstanding all 5 waves shouldn't be too difficult once you know the game basics, so you can definitely continue trying.
Unfortunately I overscoped a bit so there are some bugs in the jam version. So you can try the updated version in the comments for better experience (but obviously don't base your rating on it)
Very enjoyable and fun to play! Took me while to find out the base though, as soon as I started the game, the camera moved to the black screen and got me all confused :D
Hi thanks for your commentand nice review.
Sorry about the camera :D It moves quite quickly when you place your pointer towards the edge of the map. This is somewhat fixed in the updated version, where the camera movement is limited to the area with light (or area where you had light at some point). You can download it from the link in one of the comments.
Wow, a RTS made in 48 hours, nice! Visuals are simple, but I like the style, good sounds and music too but I have it just in the left channel for most of the time :/ I'd like to see some tutorial or tips but I suppose it wasn't done because of time. But good job, really.
Hi thanks for the comment and nice review.
Yeah the tutorial and many other things aren't there because of time. The game jam version also has some bugs in it. You can try the updated version linked in the comments for better experience (but not for the review).
I am not sure about the music playing only in the left channel. It works fine for me, but I will try to look into it when I have time.
I personally try to keep jam games as simple as possible, but I do admire when someone do something crazy like this RTS. It's actually working pretty nice. I was bit confused when Martians destroyed major part of my base, but I wasn't able to place new buldings on places after destroyed buldings. It's quite big thing so there's might be few other issue here and there, but it's still pretty well done.
Hi thanks for the comment and nice review.
Is it possible that the martians also destroyed some lighting tower and the original place where the building was didn't receive enough light?
Yes it is true that there are quite a few issues in the jam build. If you want to try a version with fewer bugs you can find a link to it in the comments

Game with some of the common issues fixed
Thanks for the comment and review. Honestly I might have overscoped the project a bit, even with and RTS as simple as this. That is why there are some features missing (like hints when you are placing a building) and you may encounter some pathfinding bugs. I hope to polish these things out in the future.

This was pretty fun, and I with some balancing could be nice little TD game. In my game for some reason repair wasn't working (was always red), so it was somewhat hard to survive without that for long. I also didn't understand building placement requirements, so I just put towers wherever it allowed me, which was usually not the place I'd actually want them.
Visuals are basic, music is fine, and controls are OK, but it's a bit annoying without minimap and with buttons on the side it's easy to scroll sideways unintentionally.
Great game overall!
Thanks for the comment and review.
I overshot with the scope a bit and that is why some of there are some useful features missing (minimap, hints when placing the buildings, camera movement limited only to the lit areas...).
The problem with repair is caused by pathfinding issues. It is disbled when there are still martians on the the map so it doesn't make defending against them too easy. But they can sometimes get stuck and thus disable the repair.
I hope to continue improving the game and remove these issues.
Hopefully you had a nice experience despite encountered problems.
