I think this game could use a few improvements to make it even more fun !

I'm not quite seeing the "On/Off" theme...

PS : Nice touch with the particle effects. Feel free to check out my game too, I used particles as well...

Haha! The character design and movement made me laugh, nice art! Seems like a good start to something bigger, I hope to see more work on it, thanks for sharing!

And if you get a chance to check out my game Foxy Boom Boxy, I would love any feedback, thanks!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, I'll make sure to check out your game

I can’t figure out how the game relates to the theme… but it’s fun nonetheless

Developer

There's like a part where there are switches that switch from on to off

the bullets don't work but otherwise very good p.s pls play my game https://coolcodedude.itch.io/a-light-in-the-dark ratings are greatly appreciated

Developer (1 edit)

how do the bullets not work

also there is no rate for rate

Submitted

this is not rate for rate this is a rate request rate for rate would be something like "rate for rate" "i gave you high marks give me high marks" and the bullets just fly randomly not at the enemy or forward

Developer

oh ok also it goes toward your cursor

but after the jam fix the controlss so you don't have to press z to attack and use the arrow key to move and aim with the mouse

Developer

This has a lot of potential. Already you have three different bullets for different functions that can be explored individually and interact with each other in interesting ways.

Also gdevelop can detect if a device has a touch screen with one of the condition lines. That or fix the setting screen.

Developer

thanks

I had a hard time aiming my shots, they fell downward real fast, it made the game way harder than it needed to be, but besides that, it's a good basis for a really fun platformer. The hand-drawn enemies and the pencil effect at the beginning of the stage are really cool. There is plenty of room for storytelling, too! The kid could invent the story as you progress. Good job!

Developer

thanks! I'll take that into mind for the full release or a bug fixes update

I love the pencil 'sketching' the character into the level. Really fun! Other than that, I think it's kind of your run-of-the-mill platformer. I think the game really needs a gimmick to have it stand out (like maybe something to do with erasing stuff or drawing stuff?). Great first pass!

Developer

Yeah me too, I'm working on that for the full version

Good try, keep it up :)

Would you mind taking a moment to check out my game as well and provide a rating? Your feedback would be greatly appreciated. Game Link
