Liked that the book reading section had a little mini-game to make it more interactive. I would agree with some of the other comments that some of the elements (for me namely the higher fidelity music/sfx) sort of undermined making it feel like  GB game.

The Concept, the mechanics, the gameplay, i really enjoy almost every aspect of this game. although it barely feels like a gameboy game, the concept of this game alone it stands on its own two feet. great entry! side note though, i legit thought the player was kissing the slime for a moment due to the sfx and animation, which threw me off, it wasn't till i realized it was a friendly ghost that accompanies him XD

Love the art, personally not feeling the GameBoy style/soul so much, but a really nice individual/original look and fun to play, some nice sfx and music too. With a few more mechanics thrown in, a clear narrative and some different enemies, this could be something you could certainly develop into a full game.
Great job :D

The different art style was a standout in the jam. The art didn't feel uniquely GameBoy, but it did stand out and is quality. I think with some more narrative and an overall goal this could be made into a compelling larger title. Great work!

Really cool game! I liked the controls a lot, my only note is maybe it would be cool if your attack had knockback and pushed enemies back a bit, rather than just stunning them for a second.

Otherwise great job!!

Made it out! Lovely art and music.  I found reading the books a bit tedious but it was fun platforming and exploring.  Good job!
