So, you have some sprite masking as well here, when she's looking through the window... In curious if there is a way to do it straight in GB Studio?

Developer(+1)

it’s not really masking. It’s drawn that way. I didn’t need to worry about frame limits on this scene so it was easy to do it that way

Submitted(+1)

Yeah, that works too!

Developer

I'd love to figure out masking though. There are some very rare scenarios when it could work using the actor bits mod

The cutscene's great! Love your music and the pacing of it. The asteroid hitting the ship is a great addition.

I get some A Boy and his Blob vibes, but am very curious about what Rose's Peanut is capable of. I sure hope she's not allergic!

Developer(+1)

You know what? I started thinking about A Boy and His Blob when I was making this. I've never played it but I get the general gist that the boy uses his blob to help him, and that's kind of what I was thinking this game would be like

Hahh this is so awesome! Reminds me of a Flipnote somehow! Love the tune too!

Developer(+1)

Glad you like the song. But what's a flipnote?

It's a really cool animation software that was released on the DSi and 3DS. You can use the mic to record music and SFX too. And it had a really cool online community back in the day!

Developer(+1)

That sounds really cool! I would have loved that

Pretty much all I did with my DSi in those days was draw Flipnotes with my brother, and hang out on the community and check out other peoples awesome stuff! I met a ton of talented unique artists there! Oh man, look at me ranting on about the good old days again.. Wahh

Developer

Sounds really cool. Now that you mention it, I think you shared an animation or two you made wit hit and I thought they were really good

(+1)

That's right - I did do that, didn't I..? :D

Wow, it's a perfekt creation. And much better then my realization :-)

You are a real professional designer!

Developer

Thanks! I liked yours too though. It made me want to play the game. Are you going to turn it into a full game?

Submitted(+1)

Thank you too. I've plant to do it. But I'll try to give the project enough time, to have a better quality. It's not easy for me as dad, to finish something like a game project ;-) . But somtimes my family help me, to realize it...

Developer

That's awesome :)

Impressive amount of work. Great framing and pixel art. Good use of moving sprites.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! If I turn this into a real game I have some ideas for refinements and places I could use more sprites to make it look more animated
