It's a fun game, but if you add a little more music it might make it more fun.
Definately nailed the theme of tiny with the ants.
Nice felt like a board game and story glimses were nice you started to create a bit of mythology/background there which was neat,
Somer simple music and sound effects would of been a nice touch but your the core of the idea you had there was great.
Also forgot to mention nice graphics too :)
FYI fogot to mention my ants starved as i couldn't defeat the praying mantises in time :(
Thank you for the compliments, they are much appreciated ! Sorry to hear about your ants :( but you didn't shy away from the mantis so you at least have our respect ;)
Suits with the theme , and the gameplay was fun too , enjoyed it! great job
Thanks for playing !
I really liked the approach of the game! I actually also thought about making a game about ants at first because of the jam’s theme, so I’m glad to see someone else made the most of that idea. It’s very well done, and I like the strategic aspect it has. I'm not sure if the ending changes depending on how much food you collect or anything specific, I even went and defeated the mantis! Planning the timing was really fun. I’d love to see a more expanded version of this with more story, and of course, with some music, it’s definitely something I missed in such a great project.
Thank you very much for your review. We really appreciate your positive energy and the confirmation that the strategic aspect of the game is not only a construct of our minds :)
We do not have any experience when it comes to music and as we were running out of time (who could have guessed ?) we sacrificed it to focus on the gameplay.
Thanks again and can't wait to try your game !
Fun game but gets a bit repetitive pretty quickly. Right on theme though! A good music loop would have been a game changer. Good job!
I wish we had a musician by our side to drop some creative whimsical music or something along the "age of war" theme, maybe one day we will !
Thank you for your review :D
Unfortunately, I don't understand how the game works. how do I get food?
If one of your units is stationed on an orange node at the end of the day (before the night comes on the timeline at the top of your screen), you will get 4 points of food.
Thanks for trying our game out !
Strange and not intuitive, but if you give it a try you would get how it works.
It would be great if damage system would be more complex or random than just subtraction.
Still, ants! I love ants. Good job!
Couldn't agree more, you should definetly give it a try !
We thought about a more complex combat system but even though it sounded a bit more exciting, we were worried that it would take away from the strategic and foreseeable aspect ... not so sure about it anymore ...
We hope you enjoyed your time playing, I'll drop a review on your game later :)
