Just finished it, turns out the first level was the hardest with less packages to chose from. Good game ! Keep it up, I hop you'll work some more ont this one :)

I played it again just to make sure I didn't miss something and I can't seem to align 7 white blocks because I never get 7 blocks in a row, even though I did black nearly instantly.

Maybe as a tutorial you could go for an incremental objective, starting with just 2 blocks. It's not as invisible but having the 3 or so first turns skipped manually by the player could also be a way to allow them to understand the mechanic by counting.

Adding combo multiplicators for streaks of packages could be another way to add a reward for the most skilled players but it can only majke sens once the randomness problem is fixed, because having your combo broken by an unlucky block placement that you can't do anything about would be very discouraging and frustrating.

It's hard to tell what enemies do differently from one another but it is not needed to enjoy the game !

Good entry

Had a hard time understanding the game and an even harder time playing it correctly, I got punished quite often by the randomness stopping my streaks every few blocks.

The music is pretty sweet and the VFX is nice but the game might need more rythm, like a button, to accelerate the speed when you are already set up.

Can't seem to find the game :/

I love the graphics and the music is of good tastes. The title screen is EXTRA clean, love it.

I had very low FPS while running in the browser so it was quite hard to get the placement I was aiming for but I saw the vision very clearly.

Maybe adding some SFX would be a nice way to upgrade your game later ? ( although making a sound for each item will be a tideous task I'll admit)

Good game :)

Great inspiration, and great Jam entry ! Improving the contrast between the characters and the background could really help with the clarity as it tookt me a minute to understand what was UI and what wasn't but other that that it has immense charm.

Love the title and the icon as well.Very well done

I don't really see the theme but the game works exactly as intended ! Runs smooth on my PC

Thank you for the compliments, they are much appreciated ! Sorry to hear about your ants :( but you didn't shy away from the mantis so you at least have our respect ;)

Thanks for playing !

I wish we had a musician by our side to drop some creative whimsical music or something along the "age of war" theme, maybe one day we will !

Thank you for your review :D

Couldn't agree more, you should definetly give it a try !

We thought about a more complex combat system but even though it sounded a bit more exciting, we were worried that it would take away from the strategic and foreseeable aspect ... not so sure about it anymore ...

We hope you enjoyed your time playing, I'll drop a review on your game later :)

If one of your units is stationed on an orange node at the end of the day (before the night comes on the timeline at the top of your screen), you will get 4 points of food.

Thanks for trying our game out !

Thank you very much for your review. We really appreciate your positive energy and the confirmation that the strategic aspect of the game is not only a construct of our minds :)

We do not have any experience when it comes to music and as we were running out of time (who could have guessed ?) we sacrificed it to focus on the gameplay.

Thanks again and can't wait to try your game !

Don't worry about the slots being empty, it was a mistake on our side XD. The upgrade (like unlocking plants or something along those lines) is a great idea, can't wait to mess around with this concept ! Thanks for your time and attention.

Thank you ArmedChair. Very valid points you make here, it will be useful if we extend on this project.

Definetly not you legend ! Thanks for the review.

I've been playing it a bit and showing the game to friends and relatives and it now seems SO OBVIOUS that there should be a health display. Can't belive we didn't think about it ! Thanks for pointing it out and for the lovely feedback.

The garlic mines grow if you water them with the right click and you have to scroll to the second item slot to use healing berries. Just realised that I should probably write the controlls down since we oculdn't make a tutorial X

We just fixed our game a few minutes ago so it wasn't playable up until now. Thanks for the opportunity to get it out there once again !

(it's late so I'm heading to bed but I'll rate your game first thing when I wake up :D)

(1 edit)

The game is fixed !

As mentioned above it still lacks a few of the features we originally intended on implementing but I do think we can be proud of ourselves for submitting a product.

Have a nice week.

Thanks for the encouraging words ! We are fixing the build as we speak, should be a lot funnier now.

A fix should be up in a few minutes, hang in there !

Thank you for your feedback, I had to upload an old build because of different shader related issues therefore the game lacked half of it's gameplay. I hope you will play the new version so you can have a more complete experience.

It's actually very unexpected that you were able to play this far into the game (and we can't explain why) XD

The game is currently not playable but we are trying to fix it by tomorrow.

If anyone knows what might cause a problem with a 2D camera in Unity after the build lmk (it works just fine in the inspector).

This is the first time we actually submitted the game we created for a Jam (although a bit late). The game is not playable right now because of an unknown issue in the build but we will hopefully get it working by Tuesday night.

I hope that we can expend on this project, we'll see what the future holds for us.
