This has great art, especially in the sailing part, very true to the retro PC game look. When it's finished out, it is gonna be a great spiritual successor to Sid Meier's Pirates! and I would only ask that you make personal combat more interesting than in that game lol.

Cool concept! I really liked the pixel art and the music. This is the life, rum in hand, hopping from island to island :) Great job!

Thank you 😀

I like the art style that was used in the game. And the music went well with the game as well. One thing I suggest is for the opening with the text, remove some of the red for the blood off the text because i had trouble reading it because the red and text merge in making it hard to read. I know there was a voice to hear it but it was hard to read it so might want to fix that.  Next, i try to go to the other ports but couldn't get any trade set up. I even had the sail down.  Also maybe have where the sail is up the speed for the boat is just a little bit quicker, I get the idea of the sail making it go faster but i feel it could have gone a bit faster. Interesting approach of a game you have here. :)

Ahh loved the opening screen & the overall aesthetic & sound!! Excited to see this prototype develop (if you choose to do so). Thanks for creating this :)

Sorry I didn't have time to figure it out. I bought some rum then didn't know where to go with it. I like the graphics. The idea that is outside the box for the theme of the jam but anything with pirates in it is great.

Very good job! the art and music are great. You definitely manage to nail the environment. What I would improve is the game mechanic and responsiveness of the controls. There was quite a bit of input delay when I played it .

Would be interested to know how it was developing with GDevelop!

I'd really like to play this, but the space bar doesn't start the game. Anyway, art looks great and is really enticing, makes people want to play. I don't know why my spacebar is not working with this. If you do an update let me know and I'll take another shot at playing the game. Good luck!

Nice little game. I didn't work out how to do the port thing but I enjoyed sailing around.

Interesting little prototype. I'd love to see where this ends up; I think it has a ton of potential, and the art, music, voice acting (always impresses me!), and just general vibe are really put together, especially for a prototype. Not quite sure about the usage of the theme here (?), but that didn't stop me from enjoying it!

thanks for the kind words mate - I suppose life in 2D for a pirate meets the theme lol.

Look forward to checking out the other entries and seeing what they did with the theme 😀

Of course! Don't know why I didn't put together the fact that the game itself is 2d. Bit goofy of me.
