very nice Game,

The Looks of the game are very nice - the Audio fits it very good!

I love the Story of the Game.

Very nice - ( a little mixed feelings in the end) UwU

Thank you, it means a lot to know that you appreciated the game so much! We're also happy to know you reached the end of it and found out all the story x)

How do you get passed the seagull? I tried meowing, I tried clawing. The seagull bugged out (WebGL version) and was in that attack sprite without resetting. I'm impressed with the sprite art and paralaxing. Wish it taught you how to play the game a bit better on what you are supposed to do.

Developer(+1)

Which seagull is the one the bugged out? Was it on a light pole or the one chasing you? We'll make sure to fix it!
Thank you for the compliment, we're glad you enjoyed the art :)
We made the game tricky on purpose because we wanted to enforce the concept of "curiosity killed the cat", meaning that you would necessarily die sometimes simply by trying to do certain things, but we will note your feedback!

The very first one on the pole. It just divebombed me really fast without getting to run or do anything. Then after the 2nd death, ir froze in that "dive attack" frame.

Developer(+1)

We found out it happens when you meow (on the 3rd time) and walk past the bird in the same frame. We'll structure the code better to make that impossible to happen!

Submitted

Oh wow! I'm laughing at how specific that is. Congrats on finding that out! If you update the game, let me know. And am I supposed to just run past that bird or something?

Love the aesthetics! The game idea is cool, I just found it a little annoying to have to die to figure out how to progress. I found myself just trying to press every button at certain parts. That being said, still think it is a great game and it was well made!

Developer

Thanks a lot! We based the game around the concept of "curiosity killed the cat" in order to make you prone to lose lives out of curiosity and then " learn from your mistakes" but we understand it can feel frustrating for some players. Still, we're glad you enjoyed the game regardless and we'll ponder over your feedback!

Hey, great submission! I really loved your art! Gameplay-wise I had a few hiccups. I did manage to figure out how to get past the dog (really sneaky btw!) but in the chase sequence when I died from the bird I went from 9 to 6 lives. Also, immediately following the sequence once you go through the fence. I jumped up on all those boxes and jumped off screen but nothing happened so I wasn't able to continue.

I really liked what I did play though! And I liked how their was persistence in the world between the cat's lives. It was a great idea. Good work to the both of you!

Developer(+1)

Hello, thank you for loving the game! Sadly the 9 to 6 lives issue lies in the WebGL version but we still need to figure out how to fix it...that's why we made the game available for download as well. We're sorry it occurs and will investigate into how to work around that in the future.
We fixed the box collider in a recent hotfix after your feedback so now there are no more problems related to that specific hiccup! If you ever feel like giving it another try and completing the game, now you shouldn't have any game-breaking problems!

Submitted

I went ahead and gave it another go this time as the downloaded version. And yup, all of the problems were gone! I made it to the end although, I was wondering is there another ending as well or was it just the one? Pretty cute game and great work once again!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for taking the time to try it out again! Glad to know there weren't any problems with the download version!
There isn't another ending so you did everything correctly. Thanks again for the compliments, really appreciated :)

Hey! I'm replying to your questions here so anything negative sounding isn't on your main game page. Not that I have much negative to say!

I could not get past the dog in the beginning, though. I tried all actions I could do, but I could not figure out what the light bulb icon meant, and I kept dying again and again. Perhaps it's an issue with the WebGL build? I'm on a Mac, so I'm not able to play the downloadable version.

Developer

Thank you for being very considerate!
The light bulb icon means that you can interact with something (sadly we didn't have enough time to introduce the mechanic better because we had to cut many scenes from the inital idea) so to get past the dog you had to interact with it by bringing it an offering! The offering can be found inside a crate but we assume you probably never managed to find that crate in particular because we made it a bit too sneaky haha
We will definitely fix the appearance of the light bulb icon unless you have the offering so it's less misleading!
If you ever feel like trying your way at the game again with this newfound knowledge, we would love to hear what you think about the rest of the game :)
