The graphics look great. It reminds me of Pokemon meets Earthbound. I think it's a game people would like. Maybe you could vary the picture taking mechanic (different speeds or movement patterns) based on each monster or something to spice up the gameplay. I wasn't sure what the Rock option was doing. Was I supposed to kill them all with it after I photograph them? Also, what do the percentages and icons mean?
Thanks for playing, the top percentage is the photo chance, the higher it is the slower the picture taking minigame is, the bottom percentage is patience, if you throw a rock at a mon its patience will get lower but the chance of you taking a picture will be higher.
Fun game. I liked the photo mechanic. I'm a little confused as to why throwing rocks at creatures makes it easier to take pictures of. Perhaps it could be food and you have to run around gathering the food? My only other suggestion would be to create a map with a few different areas and then only have specific types of "mons" in each area. I completed the game just by wandering around the tree the entire time. Also, not sure of the "mon" named "beetoff"... Othewise, well done!
Cool concept, and great execution. Took me straight back to original pokemon on the gameboy, I event had the sounds playing in my head.
Quite a bit to like here. The visuals here are strong with nice sprite work and creative designs for all the mons (Smellcaster was my favorite), and the photo-taking mechanics were pretty fun. It did get a little tedious when I had to track down that last one or two mons that would just never show up, and the lack of sound design is disappointing. Still, I liked what you were able to accomplish here.
I had a great time playing this game. I loved all the unique gather-mons? I can definitely see this as a big thing. You did a great job!
I really like the premise here. The graphics were great. Love that style. I really like how the grass moves when you walk through it.
I like what you have so far. I'm guessing the main loop, if completed, will be like Pokémon, but with picture taking. I could see you taking this further.
