I am going through all submissions to make all developers aware of an important Google form I've made.

I'm joining the IQ folks to help organize smaller events in between the main FQ event in order to help prevent us from getting too many games in main events. Right now, I have a planned structure for these events but I would like to hear from everyone who was in this event in order to tune things better. The survey is a bit long, but it covers as much as I could think of. If you can take the time to do the survey by June 1st, I would immensely appreciate it!

You can find the form here: https://forms.gle/P9LPYwERhJtpZzteA

Very charming! Fun concept and I think this is a firm foundation for being something super neat when you increase the different types of tiles, potentially add a leader board element, and main campaign that scales up the difficulty overtime ^^ Would also like to have the option to see the tutorials/reminder of how to play without having to restart to  the main menu if possible!

I'm back with a major game update: a campaign mode demo with new tiles available ! If you want to test it and leave me your opinion I am very interested !

Simple controls and rules are easy to grok.

It's a fun game and very satisfying when the puzzle is solved

Great game, simple to understand but hard to master after I cranked up the difficulty. I'd echo much of the feedback that's already been given and say adding a sense of progression would elevate the game to the next level.

Overall I'm giving top marks for an excellent experience. Nice work!

sounds awesome I’ll check it out tomorrow 🎉

I thought this game was pretty good, and I was surprised how tricky it can become with such a simple set of rules. I thought it got a bit repetitive over time, so I wonder if you might consider adding more tile types and rules at some point. I think that might be more interesting than simply making the maps larger, which becomes overwhelming because there are so many combinations you have to think through. I would also have appreciated a little more variety in the music.

A very nice little puzzle game! What you have here already is really solid, I see no potential issues to give feedback on! There's nothing out of place - the art, the music and the gameplay all fit well with each other. It definitely offers a way to entertain oneself, but there's little here other than that. Not to say that this game needs to be something more - it feels finished and perfectly fine as it is.

If you would like it to be more than that - some sort of progression might be welcome, or a story mode like others mentioned. This somewhat reminds me of Dorfromantik - which has very subtle progression with unlockable tiles and stuff

Good luck!

Nice update!

"Next Level" button seems to be broken on all campaigns except first (it always moves to levels from first campaign)

New additions are interesting and add variety. Level generation for those tiles would probably be tricky :)

Quite relaxing and engaging. A bit too repetitive after the first couple of plays, it may need a story mode and some more tiles that can help - or prevent - the player in achieving the goal.

Tried the new version, and the new mechanics are really fun and create wide arrays of new puzzle possibilities, overall an improvement from the previous version. liked it a lot!

I've encountered a minor bug in this version: after completing one of the new levels (not the turbines ones) if the player clicks next, the game will load one of the turbine levels (like, from level 161 it goes back to level 2).

Other than that, great job on a really cool game!

This was fun! The procedurally generated levels were cool, I think it'd be good to have a "continue" or "next level" button that generates another level at the same difficulty.

I played a few games with the difficulty where the wind turbines are placed correctly, and those were easy with a few turbines, and got progressively harder. I tried one game where I had to place the turbines, and that was hard even with 2 turbines!

Overall, I had fun!

I’d like to be able to play another level of the same type and difficulty when I hit the flashing “Play” button at the end of each level. Going back to the level select screen each time between levels is jarring.

EDIT: I would also love to be able to look at the finished level for as long as I want before the “level end” screen appears. Especially on the bigger levels, it’s so satisfying to see the whole level complete, and I’d like to just revel in that for a while when I beat the level.

Thank you! I love this update! The new tiles are so fun! I especially like the Building and the Fields. :)

The campaign mode seems to go back to an earlier level when I hit the “play” button in the post level screen. I have to go out and back into campaign mode to select the next level, which is a pain.

I also would still like to be able to admire each finished level for as long as I like after I complete it, but before it fades away into the post-level screen, and I’d still like to play another free play level of the same difficulty immediately after completing one (when I hit the play button after completing a free play level).

Awesome work! :D I play this game on my phone when I’m waiting for a few minutes for a slow program or food to reheat or something. Very fun! Thanks for all your hard work. :)

At first, I wasn't sure what to expect. I thought it would end up being some tactical game akin to Risk. It was also browser only, which is harder for people to stream. Then I got into it and found it's a very fun. procedurally generated puzzle game about positioning tiles perfectly.   It was instantly fun, easy to learn and the generation process ensures you'll never really see the same puzzle again.

The only thing I could say is to try to make a browser friendly version rather than using a smart phone version.

I love the graphics  and sound they work really well for this type of game. I was a little confused on the progression as other games like this usually have levels whereas this has what seems like procedural levels. You may want to consider actual levels for people that are used to that kind of progression. But anyways play well, I think this game just needs a bit more depth.

Developer (1 edit)

thank you very much for your feedback. Indeed, several people told me that a story mode would be beneficial for the game, so yes, I'm thinking of making one! in addition, another mode "against the clock" should see the light of day. There will also be a series of achievements to complete.

Do you think that these different additional things could fill this lack of depth of which you speak, or  you think rather of new mechanics (new tiles)

Submitted

I think for depth something else would be needed like maybe new tiles. But really when I talk about depth, I mean the player has to make interesting decisions, so maybe like a gamemode where you have a limited amount of moves could make the player think more about what moves to make

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much for this idea! I don't plan to add new tiles, I'm afraid that the game and the player will get lost in a flood of exotic mechanics. However, the idea of a mode with a limited number of moves seems like a banger to me! Based on player feedback, a campaign mode will be added as well!

(+1)

I think you could add new tiles without the player getting lost in a flood of exotic mechanics. For example, you could have a set/type of levels that have a single additional tile (like a park that needs to have at least 3 houses around it or something you think would work better), and then swap that tile out for other tiles in other sets/types of levels. That way there is depth in that there is variety of mechanics, but they’re not all at the same time so they shouldn’t be overwhelming.

Just an idea! Love the game. :)

I think the idea is good, but the gameplay is a little too simple, and it gets boring fast. the idea of rocks blocking the path is good, but feels uninspired.

I would say add more variables (like 2 tiletypes that cant be near eachother) or maybe gameplay modifiers (like a limited time mode, or only beat with x amount of moves, etc...)

Developer (1 edit) (+2)

Thanks a lot for playing my game and your feedback !

i agree, the rocks are here because they can resolve issue in procedural generation, i tought about remove them.

About the gameplay, as you can see, i want to put some succes in the game, like "finish 10 advanced level" "solve one difficult level in 1:00" ...

And yes, i tought about new style of "exotic" tiles, like city center, mall, ... Each with a specific rule !

I really agree with you, and i'm on my way to improve this game !
