Loved the animations and art in this! Got to day 6 but it took me a while to figure out how the fruit worked, I was just feeding it to them. At first I thought you would give them fruit and they'd evolve to have certain traits which is probably why. It would be nice if there was a bit more of an in-game tutorial, or some custom powerups when giving fruit.

I grew a pumpkin and it made a nice noise but I didn't know if it did anything extra so i just fed it to someone. Is the goal of the game to get all the different types of foods? Or just to see how long you can survive?

A few bugs unfortunately :( I had the same issue as FallingWall did with soldiers that made it a bit difficult once more of them showed up. They'd also tend to stack up on top of each other and move as a clump. Also had some issues with bad lag spikes every now and then (I tried first on mac but it would freeze, might be a godot thing though if you used that, as PC was better, but still had some spikes).

Its a solid base for a game, I really like the idea of growing custom crops to feed some kind of battle cycle (maybe a bit biased since our game does that too haha) and it shows a lot of potential. Great game for a solo dev! Looking forward to seeing more to come.

Fantastic art, well done! The music works, though a bit more variety would be nice also. I found planting and growing the crops pretty intuitive.

I did have some issues with controlling the soldiers. When trying to click on one soldier, I would find myself giving an order to the soldier previously selected. Also, giving a soldier an order would deselect him, so if I wanted to give the same soldier multiple orders I would have to click him multiple times. Instead, I think it would be more sense to select soldiers with LMB and give them their orders with RMB.

Thanks for playing the game :D

hmm yeah that's actually a good point, I think your suggested control scheme could work really well. Thanks for your suggestion!

YOOOO THIS IS AWESOME! This is definitely a favourite of mine so far.

I had a blast playing. The controls were fairly intuitive, but I wish I knew that I could move around sooner. I REALLY loved how it wasn't just farming to make money, it felt like there was a lot of strat and purpose. I really appreciated that.

I wish that it was possible to strategize the crops you grew a bit more, and there were some weird happenings like the fighting cancelling at certain points. I also found that the speedup mechanic made the seeds a bit slow to appear in the center (or like the same speed as normal items) but either way I enjoyed a lot!! I played for fun for quite some time :) I liked my lil soldier guys!

The art is phenomenal as expected but the gameplay is tight and nice! Congrats on making it this far :)

Thanks for playing the game :D

I think in general the game lacks a decent tutorial for how things work haha. I am going to update the page today, yesterday I was still very busy squashing bugs and finishing up the game loop.

Also the seeds are supposed to appear slower the more crops you have on the farm, that should in theory warrant you to spend the crops on the soldiers and it extends the gameplay a bit, even if artificial.

I think your controls are intuitive enough for no tutorial, and that's highly commendable! I think what tipped me off to being able to move was seeing my knight enter my FoV and then realizing there were stuff to do! It gave me neopets game vibes-- but like obviously a million times better. Just hella nostaglia for those tower defense games!

I'm so bad at words haha what I meant was it felt like the animation when the seed nyooms in from existence (Not the loading bar, that felt right to me!) didn't change with the fast forward, but I could just be wrong! In the way that it felt!

Amazing work!!

ah yeah you are 100% right about the seed animation, it doesnt get sped up haha
