Original idea and very nice effects. Good work!

thank you, spacemad. i'd been wanting to mix cribbage with falling blocks for a long time so it's nice to have finally accomplished that. it's a little scary when you think you have a good idea for fun but aren't sure until others enjoy it, right? cribbage isn't so common and there is a slight learning curve but i'm "testing" it constantly and forget what i'm testing for sometimes, so... :)

and, most of the fancy GFX are attributed to my favorite alien; i appreciate what he's brought to the game!

This is a nice concise challenge that's easy to keep replaying. Having never played cribbage before, I found the scoring a bit confusing at first (I'm still a bit fuzzy on when columns get scored), but between the examples on the main menu and enough combinations happening by accident, I'm able to make semi-informed decisions & plans, and eventually got on the leaderboard. Accumulating stars in the background is nice touch!

thanks, wakeman :)

and, scoring never occurs in columns; rows only ;)

care to share your initials on the leaderboard? i add leaderboards to most of my games; it's satisfying for me to watch others ascend :)

I enjoyed playing this, the concept is cool, and I was pleasantly surprised that the game ended cleanly instead of dumping me into an endless score chase.

Given the cribbage theme, I was really surprised when 31 didn't also clear. The combination of monominos and horizontal clearing only makes it pretty difficult to greed and take risk in a conventional way; none of the chain forms I carried with me worked here other than stairs, which can give it kind of a flat texture.

31 for 2! i was wary of allowing too many scoring combinations that might make it too easy to play but i think i should have added 31 as a goal which could generate quite a few stars.

i should also mention that i do plan on a score-chasing INFINTE mode; i do enjoy playing a single "deck" but also want the option to climb a higher ladder ;)

thanks for the review and for giving GEMBOT a try :)

Incredibly polished game!  Lots of interesting mechanics here.

Developer

thanks, mookie :) i wonder if your squirrel would do well in space, jumping from gem to gem :)

Good game. Would be good if you could see the next block. Would help with planning where to position the current block.

Developer

thank you, dz. peeking at the next gem might make a good earnable "powerup". i know it could be a crucial decision-maker so it wouldnt be too common.

thanks for checking it out!
