The look and feel of this one is strong. Great use of atmospheric sound + really like the notepad / flashlight combo.
Sadly got stuck on some of the cardboard boxes behind the cars near the egg so had to restart, this was on 1.0.2

I've seen some issues with clipping into objects and getting stuck before, how did you manage to get stuck? Did you run into it? In that case, crouching and moving away from the surface you're stuck on usually helps. I'll try to fix that issue when I have more time on my hands

Thanks for the review :)

Think I was just walking around that corner between the box and the car. Tried to crouch and walk in all directions so I must have been unlucky! It was the garage furthest from the egg if you want to try and recreate it.

I spent absolutely ages wandering around and I guess I got unlucky not being able to find the trigger boxes, more player guidance or a more linear map would go a long way.

Thanks for the review. I have seen these issues brought up before and will certainly be looking into them after the jam's review period is over 👍

atmosphere was good and i liked where the story was going but it was just too large a map for what you were trying to do. all the extra space doesn't really serve a purpose and since there's no direction on what 'leaving' would mean i ended up just sort of slowly trundling across the entire back half of the map. still, even though that sounds like a big critique you wouldn't even need to move what's there, just limit where the player can go a lot more. i think you've got something cool otherwise but that really does bring it down.

Thanks a lot for the reply, I appreciate the detailed feedback! Other players have also found the player direction lacking - it's something I'll be looking into after the jam.

If you haven't finished the game and are willing to give it another try - try to stay where there's no grass and let the light and tower guide you :)

Cheers and thanks for playing!

I liked the atmosphere, the sounds and that big scary creature. At the end it was hard to know where to go, but I still really enjoyed the game. And, when you read a note, the flashlight is pointed at it - nicely designed!

Okay so, this is one of my favorites yet. I was able to get the 1st ending. Just note that I lost a bit of time at the moment I was supposed to follow the machine and find the cave. Maybe if the machine's spot light was aiming at the entrance it would've been easier, let alone making more sense (as it want us to follow it to find said cave).

Thanks for the review and I'll see what I can do for the next update!

Hey, guys. The itch.io downloadable version of this game is broken and prevents you from finishing the game, please play 1.0.2 instead

Windows 1.0.2

Linux 1.0.2

Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for playing!

The visuals and audio are solid, the alien machine is great and the use of the flashlight to view notes is clever.
Level design was too open and the filter made finer text illegible, I just didn't know where to go or what to do for the most part, so I know I didn't get the full experience.

Thanks a lot for the reply. I do agree about the level design, I think I bit off a little too much than I could chew with it. The map's a bit more populated in the newer version, but I cannot upload it right now because the voting's in progress

Thanks again for the review!

Nice job, I liked the environment and the sounds were pretty spooky. I also liked the scattered diary entries

Thanks!
