Hello! My team and I are looking for a programmer for our game. The idea is mostly established, but we just need someone to help us with the core gameplay systems. The game is top-down 2D and set on a spaceship. We use Godot 4.5 and I use Github to sync stuff up. Our timezones are CEST if that’s of any interest.

My Discord is ‘absspaghetti’

We’re currently looking for a programmer. We need someone to help with coding the core gameplay mechanics. You up for that?

My Discord is absspaghetti if you are interested

Great! My Discord is ‘absspaghetti.’ Alternatively, you can e-mail me at ‘abspaghetti@gmail.com’ if that’s your preferred mode of communication. I’m eager to further discuss the jam with you.

I have designed and programmed an AI system for one of my previous games. It’s not that robust, but it would fit my game idea nicely. Am I allowed to use it or should I code one from scratch for the jam?

Thanks for the portfolios! I really appreciate your talent, however me and my friend are looking for some differnt style that aligns with our vision more closely. Wish you luck, though, man. You’re really talented!

Hey, Leonardo! What kind of art do you focus on? Got anything to show?

Listened to your tracks and damn, nice work, man! You up for making some sci-fi and electrical tracks?

Hey! I like your art. You got any more to show off than what is on your itch.io? Here’s my Discord username if you want to talk there - absspaghetti

Alternatively, I can give you my e-mail, if that’s how you prefer to communicate!

We’ll probably be looking for a music guy for our team! Have you any sample tracks?

Hi! We’re a team of two people looking for a 2D artist. We plan on making a 2D, top-down game set on a spaceship and need a 2D artist/animator.

THE MELANCHOLY, THE VOICES, PERFECT!!!

Absolutely loved your game, keep it up!

This properly messed up my depth perception. My eyes still hurt. Great job!

Yeah, I meant dithering. I was writing the post quite late at night, so I probably phrased it a bit weirdly. Thanks for the reply!

I’ve been working on a shader, but never thought to ask whether such thing is permitted. I am mixing 2 colors, which at small enough scale looks like multiple colors. Is this thing allowed, when 1bit colors look like this with a magnification?

Thanks a lot for the kind words! Starting the project I wasn’t really sure how well it’d turn out, but it seems like people enjoy it a fair bit

Thanks!

Oh, it’s C#. Yeah, that’s unfortunate

Thanks, Fletch! It’s really nice to hear you got at least a bit spooked by my work and audio design!

Hey, just to let you know, version higher than Godot 4.0 do have web export - it became supported again in 4.1, if I recall correctly!

Very claustrophobic with beautiful graphics! Absolutely loved it

I absolutely love when people notice the games that were my references! Creating panic, like Alien: Isolation was one of my goals to begin with

Thanks a lot for the kind words!

Thanks for your nice words! I probably should’ve telegraphed it to the player a bit better, but the generators can be shut down to conserve their energy levels - this, however, prevents you from using sensors, lures and doors that are in the generator’s operational region.

Thanks again for the kind words!

Thanks a lot! Coming up with this effects, I was surprised how well they translated to the low-size resolution, so it is nice hearing someone else appreciates them as much as I do!

I’ll also just mention your game. It is ADDICTING. Really great job on it! The soundtrack is an absolute banger as well, can’t wait to see what else you got in store!

Becomes a speed test to get the best high-score once you figure out all the puzzles, but it’s really lovely. I especially adore its simple, yet elegant visual style

Short, sweet and with really slippery controls - just how I like my “smol car go fast” games!

Are the blurry visuals intentional or is this a bug on my end?

Very lovely graphics-wise! It truly looks as if a lot of attention was put to the graphical fidelity.

However the lack of sounds kinda kills the athmosphere - even if the rest is quite good.

Super cute! I really enjoy the concept and the simple and visually clear presentation. It kept me engaged for quite a while. The game feel is also really good, with all the screen shake and SFXs. Unfortunately, this version is quite bug-ridden, I wish there was more polish.

Otherwise, a stellar game!

Hey, again! Thanks a lot. I really enjoy putting a lot of effort into the athmosphere of the game - it seems like something I am at least somewhat decent at. I appreciate you finding my work praise-worthy!

Cheers

I like the concept a lot!

Thanks a lot!

I am honestly in shock of how good this was. I certainly did not expect the game to go in that direction when I first launched it. I really like how it turned into a think-on-your-toes strategy, thought I wish the game was a tidbit more difficult

Very lovely game, though the puzzles were quite easy

What? Am I really this blind lol? Thanks

IcoJam 2024 community · Created a new topic 72 Hours?

Just seen the page and noticed the ~6 days left, the description, however, states 'The IcoJam is a beginner-friendly game-making code-writing art-arting music-compositioning design-designing 72-hour event!'. Is the time limit here a mistake, technically, or is there a reason for this? Am I allowed to work on a game for more than 72 hours?

Thanks for the video!

I'll probably be updating the game whenever I have more time and I'll definitely take your feedback into consideration!

Cheers :)

Thanks a lot! And for the video too :)

I've seen some issues with clipping into objects and getting stuck before, how did you manage to get stuck? Did you run into it? In that case, crouching and moving away from the surface you're stuck on usually helps. I'll try to fix that issue when I have more time on my hands

Thanks for the review :)
