The character sprites were expressive and fun to look at. They matched the dialogue well. I think a run button or faster walk speed would help, especially given that the map is large and can be confusing. Additionally, I got stuck in classroom 2B between the teacher's chair and desk and ended up having to restart, so some sort of reset button or teleporter might help. I don't think a lot of people will run into this issue, though, so it's not that big of a deal. The dialogue and references were true to Doki and her friends' streams, interests, and lore, which was nice.
Cozy game with cool visuals. I was struggling to find interactive objects though, but that can be easily fixed if you continue iterating on the idea!
I enjoyed the writing. The environment is lovely and shows a lot of thought in the design–the town and its structures feel ‘lived in’. When it combines with the music, the atmosphere becomes even more wonderful. I look forward to a version with your NPCs and the time system, if you decide to update it.
The vibes are nice and comfy. I really like all of the art that you made and I appreciate all the little references you've added here and there. The foundation is there, and if you decide to build upon the progress you've made with this piece, I think you'll end up with something great. I enjoyed playing!
The pixel art is well done and the atmosphere is very cozy. Like the others have mentioned, I think a smaller map would better serve the gameplay. It can be a little frustrating to figure out which buildings you can or cannot enter. It's a good start though, Good Job.
Very cute! I love the humour in this game! I would love to have a shift to sprint, as the map is quite large. Also some of the screen changes are a bit jarring, but otherwise a solid foundation for an RPG!
I played this on stream, here's the VOD timestamp for your game. ^_^
Quite cozy and atmospheric, but it lacked interactivity (I have the same problem in my project).
There’s also a lack of visual cues that could hint at possible interactions.
A little adjustment and everything will be fine! Keep it up!
If possible, please review my project, I would be grateful for an honest review.
I can see the vision! I would love to see this fleshed out more in the future. So far, it's very chill vibes even though explosives are involved.
An interesting prototype for a top-down RPG based around Doki and her friends. The idea definitely has potential. But the map is certainly too big (a lot of unused space with nothing of interest), especially for how slow you walk.
Lots of cute sprite art!
