The art style is amazing, and it feels like you have done so much in just one week.
There is a bug in museum near window, it shows arrow and say something about being too dark. The pointer got stuck. I must say moving around the pointer with D-pad feels slow and odd. I would prefer putting dots over each interactables and let the left/right arrows switch which dot to focus on.
It's a good game with nice story and humor. Good work.
I really enjoyed this. The art-style was amazing and I loved the decision to use the arrow keys to move the cursor. Really added to that retro vibe. Looking forward to more of this!
This was great! I love the art style and the point and click adventure mechanic mix. There is a great amount of background story included here that is engaging, and I want to know the rest! When I was in front of the museum, I encountered a glitch. The cursor got stuck between icon switches and it also got stuck on the ground between the building and the sun in the background. I had to restart to get past it. I hope you complete the game after this. Nice work!
Great game, but have you thought about using the mouse instead of the keyboard? I think it might be more convenient.
Anyway, keep it up with the first character; I wanna know more about the world you've created ^^
Hey! Thanks so much for checking out the game. I hope to work on it later on after the jam!
And as for the mouse function, I don't think GBStudio allows that as it was suppose to emulate the gameplay on a gameboy. But I do agree that I could make the controls abit easier, or at least give better instructions on what keys to press!
I loved playing the game! This is an amazing concept and it's so interesting exploring the world! I will say though that I got a bit stuck because when I got the pint of beer, I thought I could give it to someone for something else, but no one accepted the beer. I think this is because you haven't finished the game yet, but overall, the game was awesome!
Hey! Thank you for playing the game, am really glad you liked the world I was trying to create so much. Wish I could do more in terms of game play like finish coding a few more mini quests (like the beer quest) but in the end, given the time, it became just an intro of the game world as I am just a really slow programmer as I'm only just learning how to do it! XD Thank you again for your kind words :)
This looks like a lot of fun! I love the chicken and the title. Although, on the main menu, I can't seem to hit the "Start" button on desktop. I tried hitting Z, X, A, B, WASD, and the arrow keys. Would the download be better?
Yeah! I hit enter and that worked. "gee pee ass" HAHA, the visual novel part of this is awesome.
For anyone else reading, here are some instructions. Some notes on bugs/confusions below:
- After the main menu, hit "z" to progress the "comics". It would nice if enter worked here too, or if there was an indication of which key to press.
- Once you see a door, use WASD. Arrow left/right are bugged. Generally, use WASD + z/x when interacting with the world.
This is an insane amount of content for a short game jam. Nice work!
Cool!!! Thank you for checking it out again and giving it another go :D Really appreciate it, and yea, I do think I could have given better instructions on what keys to press to progress in the game world!!
Yes, it was an insane amount of work - but just wish I had more time to polish! The art at the end just became 'looser' and more sketch like lol, I'm sure you can tell the difference between some of the panels.
