Well, this one is hard to rate. Definitely its an unfinished, reeaaaally unfinished game. I can say that the story was hooking me, like some medieval demons with 1 and 0 data, interesting. But as soon as I was ready to adventure, it was over. I like the skill system you semi implemented adn the breaking the 4th wall you had going on. I would like you to finish this jam and upload it =)
Thank you so much for the kind words! I am continuing this game. I have put up a new demo of it on my page, but the next demo update I do is going to feel more like a regular demo instead of just "this is what I finished as quickly as I could." Probably will have the first dungeon finished in it. But that won't be for a few more weeks at least. XD
A pretty quick demo game. Even so, there are noteworthy things like:
All neat things which will be interesting to see once fully fleshed out.
There also are some critical points to keep in mind as you progress:
And in case it isn't already there, don't forget to add a '\c[0]' code after the text you want to color, too!
Glad you got an entry in before the deadline! Good luck on the game's development!
Thanks for the kind words! I realized (too late) the issues with the item descriptions. What confused me is that in damage formulas, you don't add the "\". This is something I should have caught through testing but didn't. XD
Just a tiny sliver of a game, but its something. There were hints at some creative stuff - MC can shoot fireballs, there's an evented skill levelling system. Would have loved to level up that fireball some more, but it ended as soon as it began. Given your time crunch, something as simple as a "Demo Over" would at least give players the knowledge that that's as far as you got, so that would have helped. Hope you get more time to develop something next time!
Yup, I was planning on making more enemies but just ran out of time. As it is, the one battle isn't even that interesting since all he does is attack. As for the Demo Over screen, it was supposed to be way more obvious that I didn't finish because the town is decidedly empty when you enter it.... but I screwed up the event to enter the town so it's way more confusing. Sorry about that. Thanks for playing and leaving a comment!
I like the story so far, but unfortunately it ended so quick.
I plan on working on this game some more and putting up a full demo soon. Check back in a week or so if you’re interested!
I fought the overseerer and then climbed out of the hole, then there was no where to go. There was a building but I couldn't go inside.
yeah I think I missed up the position of the event trigger or whatever it’s called (same as player instead of below player). But there wasn’t much else anyway. I didn’t find out about the game jam til way late so this is like four or five hours of work. XD Most of it you can’t even see because I never added more enemies. Ah well maybe next time...
Nice that you participated even on this lack of time!
it happens. Don't sweat it
