Updating an existing submission

Sorry if it is something obvious, I am quite new to jams and couldn't find the info anywhere.

With the deadlines being extended to september I can finally have enough time to put more stuff in the game that I was initially able to. My current submission is a rules-only document but I could do the full layout / art version by the new deadline. How should it be done technically? Should I de-submit my current work and submit it again when I update it? Or maybe I could just update my game and keep the current submission? Any experienced jammers?

Thanks in advance and good luck everyone!

Each project you have on itch can always be edited!

You can upload new files to it, update the project page itself, delete files. It will stay part of the jam submissions, even if you change it.

Hey! that’s a great question. You can just update your current submission adding a new file/and removing the older ones if necessary. Once you update a “game” itchio suggest to publish a devlog to announce the update. Alternatively you could announce it in the server (if you’re a member, if not here’s a link to join)
