i want you to explain to me how you came up with this idea. you are a creative person. always amazing game. bit of freedom on the weapons would've been appreciated

Developer

I was just thinking of random ideas for games. One I thought of was "Fish with a gun." I thought that wouldn't be a good idea because it sounded to similar to the upcoming "Wizard with a Gun."  After thinking on it some more, I thought of "Cod with a Bazooka" a day or 2 before the jam started. Then on the evening of the second day of the jam, I was watching a Game Jam video by Jonas Tyroller, and I decided I would start even if it was a day late. And I'm glad I did!

v chaotic concept, fit very well with the theme :3

my biggest criticism is just that the audio gets really loud when you start playing; i had to turn my sound down a lot

+ idk y i had trouble pointing the bazooka, maybe i just needa get gud LOL

thanks for sharing, it was fun to play your game on stream :3

Developer

Its because you can only shoot in the direction you are pointing in. I've received a lot of negative feedback about that, and I'm going to make it a bit more lenient in the future. I also hear you about the audio, I normally use low volume and I didn't have time for audio sliders. Thanks for playing though!

Who would have thought that a cod could use a bazooka. In all seriousness, this is a super fun game. The graphics are just stunning. It looks amazing. The psychics is so cool, just the fact that you can see the impact of you bazooka adds a wonderful element.

Although it was a stunning game, there a few suggestions that I have -

I think that it would be much more impactful if the Bazooka had some recoil. The way that you shoot, having to look in a certain direction, is slightly annoying. If you don't want to change it, then I would suggest changing the level design so that there aren't as many sections where you have to shoot up/down.

Apart from all of that. I think its still great! The visuals are probably the most striking part of the game. I loved it! :)

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Here I was worrying "Will my game be fun enough"? This is my second jam too. My first one was the first Brackeys jam and this game has to be the best game I've made yet. I've heard a lot of the same criticisms and I will fix them when I update the game.

Its nice if you make it a html game, but good game! Never see cod using bazooka :v

Developer

I tried, but all of the physics made the game too laggy in web mode

One of the best games I've tried so far

Developer

Wow, thank you!

That was fun, a cod with a bazooka will definitely spread chaos lol! Tho i didnt like the way the fish and the bazooka are tied together, flipping the fish turned in flipping of the bazooka as well, sometimes even inverted. Anyways, really nice physics objects in the background, loved that detail as well as the particles and sound effects, tho the music should be more toned down i guess. I enjoyed it! Have a great day!

Developer

Thanks! I've definitely received many complaints about the fish only being able to shoot in the direction their facing. I'll be more lenient if I update the game.

Love the art style and humor of this game. I never thought I'd see the day a cod wields a bazooka.

I know it's the way it is suppoused to be but it's kinda annoying that the mouse flips, otherwise really awesome game,  be proud of yourself!

In my original code it was a bug, but I decided it was a nice feature. When I fixed it after I discovered the aim was off I decided to keep it. Maybe if I update it and put it on Steam I'll let the player aim backwards a bit when its above or below them.

Developer

Also I liked your game

Mouse aim flip sometimes, otherwise great game!

Developer

You can only shoot in the direction you are facing. If you go behind the cod, your aim flips.

This was very fun! The visuals and programming are very clean. The physics system works very well.

I think checkpoints would be very helpful since it takes some time to progress. I think the music could use some work, but I'm a music producer so maybe I'm being too critical.

Overall, well done!

Developer(+1)

I'm hoping that I can work on it more. I'll probably just reduce the level size.
And yeah, I'm an amateur at music producing, and I had to rush this in 10 minutes.

Thanks for the feedback!
