ooh i like it! the graphics are really nice but it's really frustrating since you have to restart all the way at the start and there aren't any checkpoints. the sound design could use a bit more work but overall it's already pretty good! also please do rate my game if you have the time!

Interesting game. I like the puzzles, I just wish the punishment for failure wasn't so severe.

Developer

Thanks for playing my game!

I tried to make this game not too difficult. I tweaked all the puzzles before submitting the game to make them easier, but as other people said they are still too hard. I will update my game after rating period is over. Thank you for your feedback :)

This is a really fun concept for a game and I enjoyed playing it, although it was a bit frustrating at times because there wasn't a lot of room for mistakes. On the tile puzzle where you had to follow the footsteps, I first blew up just by walking in the room because there wasn't enough of a warning for what's going on. Next time, I was literally following the path I was supposed to and still blew up due to maybe veering off the slightest bit. But other than a few problems such as that, it's a pretty fun game!

Thanks for playing my game!

I really need to make these panels less sensitive. A lot of people have had the same problems as you. Thank you for your feedback and kind words :)

Games graphics are beautiful and puzzles are enjoyable but you should make checkpoints in every puzzle, Good Job.

Great Game! Extremely enjoyable. Even did a lil speedrun of the game. My best time is having 3:39 remaining on the clock.

Developer

Wow! That is very, very impressive! I tried speedrunning it myself and my best time was 3:15 remaining on the clock. Thank you for playing my game and such kind words :)

You have to tell us your route John! We spent quite a while trying to beat Christian's score lol haha

Developer(+1)

Hi! Good luck in beating his score. My route was pretty much identical to his. I wasted some time on the disco floor and lasers.

Developer

Hello ChristianMcF! I just updated my game "ONE WAY TRAIN". There are a new ways to save some time so I would love to see if you can beat your own record :)

I see you're a fan of the Styx-like genre too ;),  The dancefloor puzzle was a bit tricky to get the jump timing right, but apart from that it was a fun game. :)

Thank you for playing my game!

I'm glad you like it. The parquet sections seems to be a lot of trouble for everyone. If you want to skip the intro please follow the video I posted in the comments below :)

Hello. I just updated my game "ONE WAY TRAIN". I would love to know what you think about the improved version :)

Audio and graphics are awesome, I love the background music. It brings out this sense of urgency which matches the game.  I almost rage quit because of missing the jump in the second level lol, but the bug is quite handy :D

Like some of the people in the comments even I would also suggest a check point system which would make the game better.

Developer

Thank you for playing my game!

I will try to make the second level a lot easier after the jam.

Submitted(+1)

Great graphics and I like the narration:D

As others have said, a checkpoint or skip intro option would be useful, I ended up rage quitting after missing the jumps in the second room many times.

Hello thank you for playing my game!

I'm sorry to hear that you got so frustrated with my game. I really tried my best not to make it too hard, but for me all these puzzles were quite simple. There is a bug that allows you to skip into (video below). Maybe you could give my game one more chance :)

Submitted(+1)

What a convinient bug:D

I managed to defuse the bomb with this technique, thanks!

Developer (3 edits) (+1)

Glad you gave it one more chance! A very convinient bug indeed XD

This game is addictive and I really like the graphic and audio. The graphic is really well design. I wish there would be a checkpoint after I finished a puzzle and also a feet because I die a lot in the second puzzle haha

Developer

Thanks for playing my game!

The skip intro button is mandatory, but as for the checkpoint system .. I don't think it would fit. Overall, this game is all about defusing the bomb in time. Thanks for the feedback :)

Very fun and adictive game. But could have check points between the puzzles.

That was a really well designed game. It was a heck of a fun! Loved the voiceovers, the music and the overall idea! Good luck, I'll be looking forward to your success, win this gamejam! It was almost perfect..  please add an intro skip button please :D

+ kudos for the linux build! I didn't have to fight with the WINE emulator to play it :P

Thank you for playing my game and such kind words!

Everyone is suggesting that my game is missing an intro skip button and I could add one in no time, but we both know the rules. I'm glad that linux version works (I almost didn't build it due to some compilation errors). Thanks once again :)

Submitted(+1)

Interesting but hard (for me). Solved rooms should be saved to retry only last

Developer

Thank you for playing my game!

Checkpoint system would be a little too much hassle for a jam game.

Submitted(+1)

Sure! I think you update after the voting the game? Then you won 2 more weeks :)

Developer

I will probably add intro skip button after rating period. Thanks for the comment :)

Submitted(+1)

Very nice and difficult Game!  I like the sound and the 3d art.
Intro skip button please ! :D

Developer

Hello! Thank you for playing my game!

Many people pointed out that the intro should be skippable and I agree. Thank you for your feedback.

Very, very well done. The lighting, the visuals, the models are all clean, simple, and well done. I like the concept, and the execution is also very good. My one complaint, however, is a large one. Every time you have to start over, you have to wait. Waiting for that voiceover makes doing repeat tries an absolute chore, and the platforming puzzle with the lights is so sensitive that I kept restarting over and over again, every single time I had to restart is another 30 seconds wasted. If you make that first door open by default, this game is a gem. Loved it.

(BTW if anyone else is playing this game and wants a workaround for this issue of waiting, hop on the chair before the door, then crouch jump onto the lip of the doorframe. You can clip through the bit of wall between the door and the roof and bypass all the doors until the lazer room. Speedrunning tip)

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Hello! Thank you so much for playing my game and detailed feedback!

I was aware that the unskipable intro might be a little frustrating but unfortunately there was simply no time to redo this part. Also It's pretty short game so I just leaved it as it is. Also how? How did you found this gap above the door. I was absolutely sure that you can't jump over it XD. Thanks once agin :)

Submitted(+2)

lol thanks for the speedrun advice :D

Developer

Hello Noah Schultz! I just updated my game "ONE WAY TRAIN". I would love to know what you think about the improved version :)

Submitted(+1)

The improvements are very nice! The skip button was really all this experience needed, and the easier light floor puzzle really lowers any frustration that that area gave. One thing I never noticed the when I originally played was that the speedrun trick actually blocks you off from completing the game on the way back, since the door isn't open and you can't jump high enough to get over the frame! My own hubris was my own undoing in the end. Regardless, excellent changes, and still a very fun little experience! Well done.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for testing the improved version!

I'm really happy that the game is more playable after the update. The trick was useful to skip the first cabin, which was handy considering unskipable intro. Thanks once again, and best of luck on your game development journey :)
