Very good for a beginner, good job. There are some problems with controls and the screen, but most are tricks learned from experience so don't worry about it.

I see some other people commented about them so I won't repeat them here, but don't let them bring you down. I made the same mistakes in my first submission as well (and almost made some of them this time too XD)

Great game if you are a starter to game making! Keep this up and you will improve a lot over the next few jams!

For a "beginner", this is a great start! I like this concept of "The floor is lava" for the jam.

As some others mentioned, the player does not stick to the floor. For the second level (and in general with moving platforms,) you should parent the Transform of the player to the one on whatever platform it is standing on and unparent it when they leave it. For the first level, you kinda need to sprint to make the final jump, but since it is on a downward slope, the moment you start running, you leave the ground. Not touching the ground means no jump, meaning death in the lava. unless you find a way to make the player always touch the floor until a steep enough ledge or until they jump, a rule of thumb is to not do just that. I died quite a lot there and it was getting frustrating.

The UI was also quite low resolution. You should definitely try to use Text Mesh Pro, which is included with Unity and will make the text sharp at any resolution. All you need is select UI elements with the " - TextMeshPro" label at the end and, if it is the first time in the project using them, set up the essential assets in the window that pops up.

Apart from that, this is really a great start! I am sure you will improve greatly over time and make awesome games in the future!

Interesting concept and the game is fun, just the player sliding was a bit annoying.

Well done!

It was good, but 2 things.

  1. The player doesn't stick to platforms, making the second level impossible because the platforms move faster than the player can
  2. Make the text a screen before the level, as  it doesn't look good during gameplay once you already know. Also use TextMeshPro instead of regular text to remove the pixelized and blurry look.

Those stairs!!!!

Btw nice game, though the character slides so quickly and sometimes doesn't jump while running.

Nice 3D platforming game as your first one. The first level was very challenging, but I was able to get to the staircase and climb it. However the second level just seemed impossible, after the second jump especially. Regarding the graphics, I think the lava could’ve been better in terms of its color contrast (it was kind of painful to look at it XD). Also make sure to add a fullscreen button (there is a toggle in the itch.io edit page of your game). Nonetheless, congrats on making your first Unity game!

I think you did a pretty solid job with the level design, as it was manageable, but not too easy, however the game didn't load into full screen for me so I was stuck with a small window to look through, also maybe some music would've been nice. I got to the second level, where I always kept sliding off of the moving platform after the air conditioners, which was a little bit frustrating. But overall, I think this was a pretty good jam submission, especially if you're a beginner, so yeah, keep it up! :)

Not a bad little challenge for a beginner jam submission. I liked that the style was coherent and thought out. The physics/controls need a bit of work, but you'll improve as you do more :D Well done.

Developer

thanks

and yeah but i am trying for that and maybe update after game jam

Its an awesome platformer but i think the moving platforms are a bit buggy atleast it was on my system and a system which tells u why u died something like an partie effect would be nice to let the player know why he failed

Would appreciate a honest feedback for my game as well!

Developer(+1)

thanks and yeah but i don't know how to create like that thats why and i played and rated your game and it is very good i like your pixel art and game graphics

Game concept was good and executed really well with level 1's design. However in level 2, it got really hard and even more frustrating when I couldn't tell how I failed. I noticed that the hitbox of the player is affected by the camera as I am able to fail level 2 just by standing on the platform between the fans and moving my camera wildly. I feel that game would benefit a lot from allowing the moving platforms to carry the player along, or have a third-person view enabled to ease the gauging the speed at which we need to follow to remain on it. Overall, it was an interesting gameplay experience that shows potential for more!

Oh thanks for your geniune review and in level 2 first it wasn't moving platform but that was very easy the player needs so challenge to stick to the game so I done that and by that many try for some time to complete but they can't because I don't know how to make player stick and the platform moves like eg a lift like I don't know how to make so and I am 14y so I can't just Focus on game jam I have exams coming so it's hard for me but thanks

Amazing for your first game

thanks

A good platformer, but I think the moving platforms were a bit too hard, I wasn't really able to get past the first one. Though, making the fans move as obstacles was a good idea design-wise.

Overall, great game! Hope you like mine as well, it is also a 3D Platformer

thanks for positive review and I am rating yours now

3d platformers are really hard to play usually, especially in first-person view. This is no exception. However, the game works fine and looks great. Only thing missing is a clear goal and a story. I mean, why am I jumping on furnitures in lava?

Developer

yes but I don't have much flexibility in assets because I am not good at making assets and as I mentioned I have used Kenny assets and  thanks for your review  and  for 3d I like the 3dness  means like set in mind I like 3d and am not set in making 2d game and I saw your game to you are a experienced game dev I am an beginner and I ma 14 y old so for me it's hard
