Yes, we did write the code and made the assets from scratch. We used Unity Engine and licensed (free) asset packs.

I never got the hang of things... wasn't able to do anything with the boat or the tent or the person.  But I was able to explore each island and get the memories, and it was incredibly peaceful.  I enjoyed it and look forward to seeing it further developed.

Very conceptual & atmospheric, I liked the game! The controls are a bit tough, though - it isn’t explained (in the “controls” section inside the game) what are the [Q] and [E] keys for, and the [R] button isn’t mentioned at all. I liked the boat movement, though it didn’t seem like accounting for the wind direction? Also the compass didn’t work for me while on boat, it just stayed frozen & not rotating.

Nonetheless, great job! I’d definitely try a full game like this.

(btw, try & rate my game if you like shooters)

Hi there! I was able to DL and give this one a try. I really liked the environment, and the animated wind was really cool. Floating cloudy islands and all, gave the scene a nice pensive atmosphere. I did have trouble with the character controller, though. I wasn't able to proceed much beyond the first island. Nice concept!

Hi Aaron! Thank you so much for your kind words. We've posted the controls on the project page, but they are not shown here. If you press Q, you can set sails and proceed more easily.

Walk: WASD and mouse
Boat: AD and mouse, Q for sails
Switch between Boat and Walk mode: R (on a dock)
Pause: P

Hi Pschnorbus, I went ahead and downloaded it again to try it out with the controls. Sorry I missed those on your project page before. With the controls, I was able to get much further to the third island. The story seems quite poetic, and I appreciate that the game is both a reflection on the past (Rewind) and a focus on the kite/"Wind" theme.

I have a few other critiques now that I've played more of the game, and you haven't had much feedback yet so: The player in "kite" form looks a little plain. Once I knew about the kite aspect of the story, it made more sense, but initially I thought it was a buggy model. Maybe add a texture there? The boat mechanics actually felt pretty good with the wind behind me, but going from the second to third island was rough because the wind wasn't pushing me forward. Took quite a while to get there. Maybe the wind can change direction toward the next objective? Overall, I enjoyed your submission!

Hi Aron! Thanks you very much to have took the time to test our little project. I do really appreciate that you leaved a really nice critics on the project. Saddly enough, we got some little problems during the development. So not much of the week got used. Pretty much only 2 real days of work got into it, but with the scope of 7 days. 

But many of us loves the idea and we wna to make the project working correctly. So, some of us will try to finish the project outside of the Jam.  If you are interested I do hope you will be able to play the new version and give us your feel.

Also, this is pretty much our first game Jam ever. We just finish a little Unity Course online all together. We hope to produce more quality content in the futur. Either on  Pschnorbus Itch account or our personnal.
