Brilliant game idea, a must play for puzzle style fans. The background music plays multiple times but i am sure this shouldn´t be a big deal for you.Thank you for participating.

Developer

Thank you :) Yeah, I know for the background music, a silly mistake I made . I know how to fix it, just waiting for the judging to be over.

The build itself works but I think you need to compress it with .zip in order to make it playable via itch app.

Nice puzzle idea. I think time-speed-up button would help, so you have to spend less time waiting for heart flying.

Check out my game as well: https://nns2009.itch.io/love-full-house

Doesn't work on MacOS:

"An error occurred while launching A path of Arrows
No executables were found"

I opened local files and it seems like it has windows build, not mac.

P.S. Doesn't install from Itch on windows either: "opening archive: creating 7-zip extractor: opening 7-zip library: could not initialize libc7zip"

Level design is creative, very enjoyable puzzle game I must say. The one big issue I found is sometimes colliders are bigger than heart itself which caused restart even though I haven't touch the black heart. I think for such shape there should be few colliders combine to match it. Anyway, for first game it is very good job, the most important, it's fun to play. As was mentioned earlier in the comments, consistent graphics design would give much better feeling. I feel from the game that you will be probably good level designer, focus on that skill in future games and keep going!

Thanks for the feedback. I made sure the colliders were perfect, butI see how just grazing the black hearts but still dieing can feel unfair. I will make my hitboxes a bit more forgiving in the future.

so fun! i really enjoyed it!! i felt clever placing the arrows! i just think that some feedback sounds would be needed in the game. Maybe some work on the graphics? i also think that the the u could harmonize the texts

For a first game, it is pretty good. The puzzle aspect was there, I didn't find any major bugs. The more you create, the better you will be! I think parts you could improve in your game are:

  • Art is inconsistent. Sometimes you are using pixel art, sometimes not.
  • I was confused the first time, if I should touch or not the black heart. I know, I didn't read the instructions carefully. But in general, it is better if people can understand the concept without explicitly saying it. Spikes, for example, everyone knows that they are harmful.
  • Having some simple effects / animations may help to make the game better: screenshakes or scale change with tween of the heart / arrow. Something in the background that has a constant animation can make the environment more alive.

Thanks for the feedback. All that you have said is simple to pull off, but I think it coul add a lot to the game(or future ones I make) so I am very grateful. :)
