Very cool take on typing games, I've enjoyed it. Might I suggest - in "it's already cool, just food for thoughts" way, not "it's crap, fix it" - removing the color clue from the target word, just leaving the arrow? The arrow is already an unambigous enough pointer, and in that way there's more satisfaction in solving it. Anyway, that's just a though that popped into my head while I was trying to remember the target word's position in a brief moment at the level's start before zooming in. Very fun at it's current state already.
It was something unique. It's nice that it approaches the theme from a different angle. I didn't understand at the start but then I solved it. Good job!
Can you try and rate my game ?
Really cool take on the theme! Gameplay is really unique and quite fun. The dialogue box skipping text, as opposed to just completing it when pressing space was a little annoying at times. Either way, really interesting game!
interesting disclosure of the topic
This game was pretty innovative and I loved the art style!
The idea of actually diving deep into the human mind is an idea I kinda wish I'd thought of. But you definitely did the idea a good amount of justice!
A few things I'd like to note though. First, the game feels a little empty without sound effects. The neuron thing probably took a lot of time, so I get that you might not have had time for audio, but it really does make all the difference in how a game feels.
Second, sometimes the same word appears multiple times, which can be a bit annoying when you're trying to go one path, but the duplicate sends you down another.
Third, the typing seems a bit buggy as well. Sometimes it just doesn't type the word, and depending on your Caps Lock setting it might start one word, then jump to the next, but not actually finish until you realize you had caps lock on.
Fourth, the difficulty setting was a bit confusing. Why is it that when I drag it all the way to the left, I get no time, but all the way to the right I get all the time. Shouldn't it be reversed?
And lastly, I wish pressing space showed the entire dialogue and THEN skipped it, rather than just instantly skipping it. This caused me to miss out on the last bit of dialogue.
I know I complained a lot, so I'll end this review on a positive note: the game was pretty fun and I feel like has some legs as an actual Steam game!
Thanks for the extensive feedback! Sound in general, a more intuitive difficulty slider and fixing the problem with double nodes were defintely planned, but it did indeed take me a lot of time to get the neurons working and also we kinda just procrastinated until basically the last two days. Still very helpful input, especially if we continue working on the game. Thank you!
Concept seems really nice! I was hoping to play it but the typing didn't work for me. whatever i did, I couldn't proceed. Also dialogue, would be great if a first space press shows the entire dialogue instantly and a second one skips it. I wanted to read it, but the tempo was to slow for my liking, but I still had to wait if I wanted to read it all.
I was expecting a short story, I had to print it)
Really good and with a unique mechanic! I really liked the story and the art too. Although it wasn't incredibly clear what I was meant to do at first, once I found out about the compass it was great though. Really good job!
Very cool game and Story! The only thing that was a problem was that sometimes the same word appeared twice as a neighbor to the currently visited note, making it difficult to navigate. Still very fresh and unique!
Thanks! Yeah, that's defintely something we still need to fix, just had other things that needed to be done first.
I really liked it once I figured out what was going (about 5 sec to go in first round). I'm a decent typist though and it seemed never ending. Does something else happen?
Hi, thanks for trying out the game! You need to reach the yellow node, the compass in the bottom left shows you in which direction to go. Everything should also be explained on the game page, I don't know why it was missing before.
Thanks for the info, I'll circle back and give it another go!
