Good job! Will come and play it more thoroughly, trying to get through a basic test run and at least give it a try! Trying to get to everyone I can!

Developer

Hey there, I am trying to get other to re-submit their reviews for my game if possible...it was deleted and removed from the Jam on accident based on a technicality which was solved between the Jam Host and a particular asset used in the game...please if you have time, energy, and/or generosity to re-saved your ratings/reviews for the game. I am going through and re-saving yours given my browser kept your rating saved data on my end...but it looks like I lost all 73 reviews and ratings from my end....  :( best of luck to you in the Jam

Developer(+1)

That sucks man, i hope you get back to the reviews you had and get a similar score. I didnt remember the score i gave but i gave your game a second try and rerated it. Just in time! Hope the best for you!

Pixel art of the game looks gorgeous. They might be 3rd party assets but you managed to arrange and used them very well, there are no inconsistencies  anywhere or nothing sticks out. But i had to break 1 star bcs that would be unfair to the developers which made the assets themselves.

Combat is interesting but that card system is not really my cup of tea. I just can't see the point of using cards in combat. I think you were inspired by deck building roguelite games like Slay the Spire. Maybe it didn't appeal to me much bcs i haven't played too much deckbuilding games idk.

I gave a solid 4/5 for boss design.  Boss fight were challenging and i had some fun plus their visual design is very good but i played games with better boss fights in this jam  so i had to scale it according to that.

I think this is a well made game with bold and innovative/experimental design choices. I always respect developers who are trying  new things and avoid imitating other games. Good job on your work and good luck!

Thank you for your comment and for playing! I agree and support your decision to scale down the score and I completly agree there is incredibly better games out there that will make it to top 30, I dont expect to get there, im only happy we have somewhat of a finished product 😁

Great work. The art is amazing. The music too. Although it seemed to cut out sometimes. The gameplay is a lot of fun, although it took me a few tries to really get used to it.

Developer

Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to play. We did not had time to fix this bug unfortunatly, maybe later 😁

I liked the deck swap mechanics. The bosses are interesting. Sounds are missing in some places, but overall the game is very cool

Developer

Thank you a lot for those kind words and for playing. Sound is indeed missing and the music is a little bugged unfortunaly. 😁

The art in this is awesome and the slime spinning sword is such a creative idea!! And gank boss as first boss? Also nice.

The game looks amazing and the level of polish in the menus is top notch! Now, while the gameplay concept is a good one, I feel that there are some design tweaks that could make it less cumbersome, mainly the way that the player interacts with the cards. As of now, the moment-to-moment gameplay requires a lot of UI management, since the player has to swap between cards after every use if they want to get the highest DPS. I would suggest that the player cycles between cards automatically after each use, eliminating the constant need to press the swap button. And if you want the ability to stay on one card, maybe there is a button that locks the selected card until released? I also noticed some smaller issues, such as the lack of sound effects and visual issues with the character creator when playing the game in my browser, but those should hopefully be easy fixes.

Overall, I would say that this is a surprisingly polished game for a game jam! If you decided to take this further, I believe that it could easily be made into a commercial release. Great job!

Developer
