Hi, couldn't find your contact elsewhere, wanted to say that I liked your visual style and wanted to ask if you would like to work on one project? (On the BOSS RUSH 2024 jam) ( my telegram: @dead_insideq )

Game's take on the theme
We use the "Makeshift" theme in two ways. Our artist (Maider) used the first thing that was available to draw the art, and then digitalized it. Also, we force the player to use whatever is in each scenario to win against the bosses, as they can not be damaged by traditional means.
Does your game utilize the PlusMusic plugin?
No. We tried it and didn't like it.
Did you use any third-party plugins other than PlusMusic?
DoTween

Hi everyone!
Thank you so much everyone for your feedback. It's very satisfactory read all of them and we will take them for the future and we won't make the same mistakes for the next time!
I'm so happy to see that, all of you like the art of our game. We made with our hands all of the assets using differents painting and drawing stiles. As oil on canvas for the environments, pastel color for the differents particles, black graphite for the bosses and Goya, and brown graphite for the differents objects. Then I digitalised all of then.
I post some of the originals so you can see them (with my watermark).
And again, thank all of you for your feedback! :)
.
the art style was very good but I had some issues in reading the font, the gameplay might be a little more intuitive with maybe some in game tutorial or examples. Good Job overall

Definitely one of the most original art styles here! Very original use of the paintings. I loved you could see the threads below the paint!
Some polish on the technical side would help. Longer range on the attack, maybe more feedback on getting hit/ hitting the boss?
Worth a play- you don't see Saturn eating his children that often in games :)
The art is really very successful and the animations make it really exceptional. I have a little trouble with certain part of the gameplay but it's still visually very cool
Cool aesthetics (isn't this technically a fan game? There is no copyright on the paintings and you can use the image of the paintings for non commercial purposes, but you don't own the IP either)
There is no feedback that let you know that only the skulls can be reflected in the first boss, and the other parts deal too much damage to the player.
The game feels a little stiff. Goya's brush attack range is super small, Would you consider making it a little bigger, maybe like a slash instead of a punch. The character could have better animations, like he was actually painting
Really Cool concept!
Hey thanks for the feedback!
First of all, i don't think Goya qualifies as a fan game, as we didn't use the real paintings but just Goya's style. All was painted and then digitalized by our artist.
About the feedback on the first boss, i agree that it is pretty difficult to know about the skulls. We tried explaining it using the goat, but i guess it was not enough (or it was badly explained). I think we could have improved this and the stiffness with more time. Even in a month we had little time to work on the actual game, sadly. So yeah, you are totally right. If i have time I'll make the attack a little bigger!
Again, thanks for your time. Have a nice day!
I loved being able to play Goya. The art are amazing, really nice idea. I would have love to see more corrida and Tres de Mayo. The game is pretty rigid and hard to play though.
No problem, I understand that! Most of us as jobs on the side!
Like i told you the gameplay is a bit rigid. Most probably bc the animation of Goya are really slow.
Other than make a short tutorial. It's really complicated to understand how to fight back at the beginning.
In term of graphics you could play more with light, shadow (as Goya) and had more depth. I you use Unity there is a nice 2D light system now.
Thank you so much! I'm very glad to see that you like our art style. I love Tres de Mayo too, I think that it's one of the best Goya's Black Paintings, but for the bosses and the environment fot the Jam, I wanted to base on the paintings of Goya's house "Quinta del Sordo" and its hypothetical location.
